A really nice portrait and nighttime walkaround street lens. Very compact and discreet and feels well-made with quality materials. My copy is far from optically perfect. Vignetting and CA at wider apertures and underexposed images aren't uncommon, but its charm makes up for any of its perceived flaws. I don't use this lens a lot, but whenever I do I usually end up with something special.

This lens is used a lot on the Sony A7 since I got a few weeks ago. I got it because I just love the angle of view of a 40mm lens on full-frame. Wide-open it's useable. It's plenty sharp in the center, although contrast is a bit low and there is some glow around higlight features. Stopped down to f/2, contrast picks up nicely and the center is sharp.
