Voigtlander Nokton 25mm F0.95

Announced Aug 26, 2010 •
Prime lens | Micro Four Thirds

My Zhongi Mitakon 25mm f0.95 fell apart a few months ago. It was my favourite manual focus lens. I decided to buy the Voigtlander to replace it. The Voigtlander has not disappointed. Although a fair bit heavier, it is acceptably sharp at f0.95 and very sharp by f1.4. Its bokeh is creamy and its colour and contrast are very good. However at f0.95,  it is not as sharp as the less expensive and Zhongi Mitakon, but it seems to be much more rugged. i should add that the Voigtlander 25 is a joy to ...

Gorgeous lens and it really gives some gorgeous bokeh (at close range). Also really lets MFT be a good low light system. Build quality is Leica like, it's heavy and solid, really assuring it's gonna last. Sharpness is good enough, for me, then again I'm not a huge sharpness freak. Before I start, why is there three review entries by the same person? Great lens.  Voightlander has proven that it is possible to make a high quality lens both in terms of finishing an optics for the micro 4/3 format. The size is just right for the camera and handles very well. Provide good shallow depth of field with a nice bokeh. White Shadow

build quality . the lens by itself is really well built , i own a leica m8 , and its easy to see the resemblance in construction , so much so that for the mft the voigtlander nokton 25 .95 looks more like a leica that the panasonic leica 25 1.4 , its one of the reasons i fell for the lens , and of the gear i own for the micro fourthirds it is easily one of the best constructed pieces , peformance at f.95 the lens is really fast , but it does get the glow associated with larger apparture ...
