I bought this as I wanted a wide angle manual lens, as I like to have full control over every setting on the lens. SO of course I put it through various test to see how good it was. And was I surprised? OOO yes, with great clarity and a awesome smooth  aperture. I was blown away, no clicking when changing f-stop and with 11 blades you can't ask for anything better. Hi I tested my copy with a resolution chart. Please find a detailed description of my setup and procedure in this thread . This is of course not a test under scientific lab conditions. It is what I was able to do at home w/o buying any special equipment other than a resolution chart. The test chart was lit a little uneven due to my conditions, this is not the lens's fault. The biggest drawback when testing one single copy of a lens is a missing benchmark, as explained in the post cited above. ...

I I purchased this lens for the specific use of it's trying to use for wedding ring and macro photography. I'm a semi pro photographer who loves the world of macro and detail shots. This lens is quite a beauty although being fully manual, wide angle and best of all being a 1:1 ratio macro use as well. I have a better control over my tiny subject while shooting in manual.
