I am an absolutely new comer to the world of dSLR photography. I have recently joined a bird watching group and have made a few trips with successfully (to the extent permissible) taken birds and nature photographs with my existing point-and-shoot camera. But now I have started realising its limitations and therefore I have recently decided to have a Nikon d5200 which suits my budget. The camera comes as usual with a 18-55 kit lens. The experienced members of the group come with awe raising...

This is a macro shot I took of the base of my phone. If you zoom into the speaker grill, you'll notice the top row is bluish at the borders. Is that what chromatic aberration is? Is that due to the lens, or due to the flash? And how do I correct it? This shot is focused on the speaker grill; but I notice the bluish tinge when the shot is focused on other parts of the phone (from the same angle) as well.

Hi, I am using Nikon d3200 with Kit lense(18-55). Now its time to go for some lense which could serve all-in one purpose. Mainly for landscape, mountain and also bird photography. I am confused between 50mm prime lense and 55-300 VR lense. How is Tamron 18-200 or Tamron 70-300. Please suggest at your earliest convenience. Thanks and Best Regards. Santosh

Hi, I'm planning to buy a dslr camera without a kit lens and buy a good lens separately. My supervisor is advising me to buy a camera that has a focusing motor built in so that I could have a option in the future to buy lenses that doesn't have a focusing motor built inside of it and it would cost much less. I'm considering that advice a good one but when I did some research I found that recently nearly every new lenses are coming with focusing motor built in. So, if I buy a camera body that...

Which among the following 2 lens is better in terms of image sharpness and image quality. Sigma 70-300 F/4-5.6 DG Macro Tamron A17(AF 70-300) F/4-5.6 Di LD MACRO I understand that both these lens are very budget lens and the image sharpness will be nothing more than average. However I would be getting it for free and got to choose among one of them. I shall be using them on Canon 1100D for now, which I will soon upgrade to Canon 70D. So which one should it be?

Hello, Some time ago I bought the K-01 and gave it later to my father. He mentioned he would like to have a telephoto lens, and after some research I think I'm going to get him the Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro. He doesn't shoot a lot and it's purely amatuer, so I'm not looking for anything too fancy, and price plays here a big role. That's why considering the features of this lens (long reach, some kind of macro) I think it might be a decent choice. I wanted to ask, though, if...

Hi all, This is my first post on DPReveiw. In preparing a wildlife trip, I'm looking for a reasonable telephoto lens that suits my Nikon D7100 body (DX sized sensor). The sole lens I have, is a portrait zoom (Sigma 17-70mm "C") which also sees landscape use most of the time, but for the next trip I'll need (much) more focal length. Since I try to shoot without tripod when possible, and due to luggage limitations, I'd like to avoid carrying a heavy lens that needs a permanent tripod mount, so...

Hi , I have a Nikon D5100 camera and I am planning to get a Tamron 70 - 300 mm lens. I am not sure if the lens will have the auto focus functionality when fitted with the camera as the camera does not have an inbuilt auto focus motor. Also similarly I have the same question on the Sigma 70 - 300mm lens . Please help me
