bought as 2nd hand. image quality is okay at both ends. AF is not too good at long end, better use manual focus. some abbreviations occur but neglectable. all in all 4 stars. would never buy new, but 300 euro for 2nd hand is worth.

I ran a resolution test using the Tamron Auto Focus 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Vs. The Zeiss Loxia 50/2. The tamron is A mount so I have to use a Sony LA_EA4 adapter for the A7r, I own. Shot both at 50mm and F;7 on both. Being a professional ...

I purchased the Tamron VC lens when it came out, and this was one of the best buying decisions I have made. It works just about flawlessly on my 5D Mk II and T4i. The reason I bought it was so I could have a one-lens walk-around outfit to cover most situations. I know that as a zoom, it is not quite as sharp as a good prime, but the convenience is worth it most of the time. To me, the lack of weight is very important. My Canon 70-300 L is almost 3 times the weight. Besides that, optically ...

Stupendous Zoom Range, tack sharp focus, reasonably fast AF decent Macro overall a great Value Problems: sometimes(very rareley) the autofocus doesn't focus on the correct area, but doesn't happen often enough to make me NT like this lens.
