Hi All,
I just got a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 for my DSLR, and to my surprise, I found that this expensive lense results in much dimer/underexposed pictures compared to my cheap preliminary Canon lense (18-55mm/ f4-5.6) when I take pictures with exactly the same ISO, F, and shutter speed. Does anyone have a similar experience?
Tamron has definitely much larger front and rear glasses compared to the canon lense, so I would expect much more exposure for the same setting!
Below is an exmaple; F11,...

Sad story. I recently got back to attempting some ‘serious’ photography, and pulled out my Tamron 24-70 2.8 Di Vc zoom and cried as i looked at it…
Scratches on the front of the lens. It was on an old 7D that was gathering dust, and must have run into something i was not aware of. I used it today, but have not had a chance to transfer them to my Mac.
Yeah the simple thing would be to wait, but I’m also curios as to what other horror stories may be out there - misery loves company….

I am hearing non-compatible or needing FW updates,
Question: Has anyone shot with a Tamron or other third party lenses with 3- 5 stops of IS with a Canon R5 or R6 also 5 stops and proven 8-10 stops of IS ?
I spent extra money on buying the IS on my Tamron lenses and would not be happy with that becoming invalid.
I am sure any Canon glass owner including myself would like like being told that with a newer body your 2100 dollar lens will perform like your 1300 lens.

Hi all,
I'm using 24-70 G2 with a Nikon D750. I like the results I'm getting with this but there is one thing that keeps bothering me.
I remember when I first used it last year, I was a bit puzzled about its zoom range, especially on the long end. To be honest, I was expecting 70mm to be noticeably longer than what I've seen through the viewfinder.
I compared the field of view of 24-70 G2 @24, 35, 50, and 70mm with the Tamron 17-35 (@24mm and 35mm), Nikon 50mm 1.8G and Tamron 70-210 (@70mm)....

Hi there,
I have 3 lenses, a 11-20mm wide, a 18-55mm (kit) and a 70-300mm tele (kit) for my Nikon D5300.
I'm about to replace the 18-55 kit lens with some better f-number lens, could you recommend some please? The budget max is as low as $500 or €600. I mostly use them for traveling, landscape, buildings inside, so mixed.
What I'm thinking about are these:
Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS HSM Contemporary
Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 (used)
Tokina AT-X 24-70mm f/2.8 PRO FX...

Hi everybody,
I recently bought Tamron 24-70g2 for Nikon (I use d850) and took it for a test ride. I shot mostly portraits, but I also took some landscape and flower shoots and the the result was just horrible. It seems that almost nothing was in focus, the images were foggy/blurry. I shot at 24mm as well at 70mm and there was no difference. Aperture was at least f4 and I increased the number to f7 and still not in focus.
I will attach some photos and would be very grateful for any...

I have several Tamron G2 and the Tamron Tap-in Console and I shoot a Nikon D750. I want to do the micro-adjustment. Am I better suited to just do a tune in my camera body or should I tune the lenses?
If I tune the body, the method doesn't really matter to me. I like the DOT Tune method it is the easiest I have seen, but I do have Reikan FoCal software.
If I tune the lenses using the Tap-in console should I tune the max number of focal points for each lens? Also, which method and why would...

Has anyone done this and can recommend an adapter? I am thinking of jumping ship from Nikon to Sony and I have the Holy Trinity, but all in Tamron. Specifically the:
15-30 G224-70 G270-200 G2
I have a couple of other lenses as well, but those are the three I am most concerned about.
The few adapter reviews I have been able to find only seem to test actual Nikon brand lenses. I can't find any regarding third-party lenses. The few forum posts I've found are about adapting Tamron Canon mount to...

HelloI want to buy Tamron 24-70 G2 and read on the internet that many copies are suffering from focus problems. I found the lens on the gray market at a very good price. I imagine that the focus problems are not just on the copies on the gray market but also on the official ones. Is it worth the risk of buying from gray market? The focusing problems can i manage it from the Tap console?

I have a Nikon D750 camera and have been using a Tamron 70-200 G2 lens, and recently got a Tamron 24-70 G2 24-70 lens.
One difference I have noticed is in the vibration control: in the 70-200, the focus would "snap to focus" when VC kicked in, and hold the image still in the viewfinder. With the 24-70, I don't notice this "snap to focus", nor does the image feel locked in the viewfinder.
I tried some test shots with VC off and with VC on, and on average I get better focus with the 24-70...
