Hi All, I am currently using Sony A7S & A7R bodies for astro on which I predominately use adapted EF mount glass. I don't have money, so really looking for best bang for the buck used options rather than outright best. So far I have the following lenses; Samyang 12mm f/2.8 Sony 20mm f/1.8 Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 II (used for video, not photos) Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 I'm looking for something in the normal focal length range and have honed in on the Tamron 35mm f/1.4 or the Tamron 45mm f/1.8. The...

Hi all I accidentally put my finger of the rear element, and I use the Zeiss cleaning wipe to clean it lightly. I wanted to ask is it the right way to clean it? After 2 rounds of cleaning the rear surface, it has some Smudges mark on it, so i decided to clean it again My friend told me that the rear element is very soft, thus never touch or clean the rear element, My 2nd question is that - is the rear element as tough as the front element (across all brands)? RegardsKAWO

I recently switched to Sony and when I mount my Tamron 15-30mm G2 with Sigma MC-11 adapter to my A7R IV and A9 cameras the viewfinder now shows the stabilizer not working but it appears to be working when using the camera. The cameras did show it working until recently when I upgraded the firmware on the MC-11 adapter. Anyone else having this issue? Everything is normal when I mount my Sigma 24-35mm f2 zoom lens. These are my only adapted lense

I'm interested in using the Sony A7 R IV with my Tamron 15-30mm and 35-150mm Nikon F lenses.  Is focal length preserved with the Commlite adapter?   Any comments about adapting these specific lenses?

Hi All, I'm looking to get a used Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 EF mount for astro landscapes (already have the Sigma 20mm f1.4) and adapt it to my a7S using a VILTROX EF-NEX IV. Was looking at this combo so I can electronically control focus / aperture and also get EXIF data. I'd love to get the native E-Mount Sigma 14-24mm, however it is too expensive for me and the new Tamron 17-28mm E-Mount isn't going to be wide enough over my Sigma to justify the purchase. Anyway, was all set to pull the trigger...

We're going on our first safari in Tanzania in a few weeks (beginning of Oct) and I'm trying to finalize my camera/lens setup. We'll be on a 10 day safari and will be visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and The Serengeti (Central & Northern). We'll be staying at camps and lodges within the parks and will also be doing a Balloon ride one of the mornings in the Serengeti. I'd like to capture this trip in it's entirety as this is our honeymoon and our first time to Africa.  Logistically,...

Just got my second copy of this lens as the first had a VC issue. That is now resolved with the second copy. Upon performing some basic lens tests, to me, the performance at F2.8 is concerning. I directly compared it to my excellent copy of the Tamron 24-70mm F2.8 G2. All tests were performed at 30mm on the Tamron 15-30mm. With Live View focusing, tripod mounting and VC off. I tested different focal lengths and the results did not change in my opinion.  As you can see from the below images...

Hello, I have as new copy of the Tamron 15-30mm F2.8 G2 and when I half press the shutter button with VC enabled the image jumps to the left and up about half the width of the little focusing square. The viewfinder image looks like it is moving to the top left-hand corner. The image moves back to the original position when the shutter button is released. Is this normal for this lens? I have owned two other Tamron lenses with VC and many Nikkor lenses with VR and never noticed this before.

Usually capture one selects a lens profile on basis if EXIF info on the image, but in certain cases for third party lens from Tamron or Sigma, profile isn't available for each mount and lens combination. So in this case if you manually select the lens profile from another mount and apply it, what kind of issues will still exist. Say Tamron 15-30mm lens profile is available only for Canon EF mount, but if a take a pic using the Tamron 15-30mm lens for Nikon F-mount or Sony A-mount camera and...
