I'm tethering with my a99II (2 months old) using a tether tools  jerkstopper  and cable and all of a sudden they disconnect and or wont stay in ,by that ,I mean I  a got a new one out of the packet  and the same ....I haven't dropped ,pressed or leant on it unnecessarily...(.I know this pin configuration is used by other models and I prefer the mini but..) I then used the little cable that I got with the camera and it seems to work fine (in a short test this evening) I'm under the impression...

I am deciding on a full frame high MP "camera of my dreams". I recently brought a Nikon D810 and was greatly disappointed in that I couldn't get the autofocus to work. I then returned it and was looking at the Canon 5Ds. I was reading the reviews on THIS camera and found many comments on their autofocus problem. Looking now at Sony's a99 II which brags about their excellent autofocus. I am having trouble deciding between the a99 II and the a7R II, The a99 II demands # 500-600 more. For the...

So the time has come to start looking for a new full frame. I was not particularly ever considering an upgrade for a while, especially since Sony was going E-mount the whole way for years. Eventually I will need to switch, I told to myself, but then comes the A99 II which blew me away and surprised me as a new A-mount full frame that took care of a lot of concerns.  I have an A850 that has served me well over the years, and a healthy collection of great glass (Sony 85mm 1.4 ZA, 135mm 1.8 ZA,...

Hi. Is the a99 ii water resistant or waterproof or neither? I'm a wildlife enthusiast and monsoon is one of the best times to head to a sanctuary.

I understand SLT cameras as having a mirror which let the light to viewfinder as well as sensor at the same time. But If a99 II utilise this technology why does it has a electronic viewfinder instead of optical view finder?  If they are to put EVF why they have implemented SLT technology which cut few light. For focus advantage?

I'd like to know which of the two cameras you'd like to have if you could only have one, the A99ii or the A9? I go to a lot of baseball games and sit close enough to where my Sony 70-200 f2/8 gets good shots with my current camera the A77ii. I also take a tone of landscaping shots in the D.C. area (can you see my problem)? Smoking 20 fps with the A9 or 42 mp quality with the A99ii

Has Sigma totally stopped supporting Sony, either A-Mount or E-Mount? Or even Pentax for that matter. Considering Sony overtook Nikon in FF sales it seems an odd decision.

I am a bit puzzled about camcorder auto-focus.  I have an old (but good) Canon HX-A1 camcorder that does a better job of auto-focus then any of my DSLR or mirrorless cameras do in video mode. I thought the answer might lie in something like the Sony SLT a99 II in video mode because it can incorporate phase detection auto-focus.  But I see that in video mode it only shoots at one aperture.   Then I realized that phase detection only works well within certain aperture limits (no problem for...

Hello I have been searching for some wide angle options for my A99 II. I came across an used Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 AF II DG HSM for 630$. Before I go ahead with the purchase, I wanted to get some expert advice. I tried the lens and I really like the huge wide angle I am getting with it. Nothing really special about the varying aperture and it obviously doesn't support the Hybrid AF. But I am really not at a level where I can perfectly judge the lens. Is this lens good? and is the price...

Hello I recently got my A99 II and was exploring the menus. I was wondering how to shoot 4k in the super 35 mode. I only find one item on the menu 'Super 35 mode' which has 3 options: ON, Auto and OFF. Can someone explain me what these options mean and how can I set it to shoot 4k in super 35 mode? Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!
