Hi, I'm considering something newer than A900 and I'm a bit torn between A99 and A99ii. I'd probably be happy with 24 megapixels, but A99ii does have a much greater AF coverage when including OSPDAF, though perhaps not that large with just the dedicated module.I'm probably going to get the Zeiss 24-70, anyway, I find the Tamron 24-70 somewhat unreliable in getting well focused pictures (it seems to be barely good enough), I'll have to try more extreme measures to get it to focus, or maybe...
I have shot an a700 for about 10yrs, and have accumulated several A-mount lens. Wanting to purchase either an a99 ii or an a7R iii which I (now retired) will have to rely on for many years. Would I get better results (focus, resolution, etc) with the a99 ii using my old Sony and Minolta a-mount glass, or changing over to the new mirror-less system of the a7R iii combined with the LA-EA4 adapter for my A-mount lens. At this point in life and a limited budget, it would be difficult building...

Hi to all,I had a question for the A99ii users:I tried without success to set my A99ii for make a video in a way to have the 1/50 fixed shutter speed with AF On.I found that playing with Picture Profile, I can change the shutter speed from 1/25 fixed (PP1) to 1/50 (for example with PP7 or PP8), but with PP7 or PP8 it does't stay fixed to 1/50, it goes to 1/60 or 1/80 if necessary.Of course in manual mode or S-Mode (no P Mode) I can change the shutter speed as I want, but I have only the...
Hello fellow Sony usersI have a problem with a combination of my Sony A99 II and my Sony 24-70 ZA lens. This combination has been used heavily for the last year. But recently it seems that the electronic connection between the camera and lens is failing. Auto-focus is disabled and the aperture can not be set. If I try to press the lens to the camera (pressing up a little), the connection is restored. So it sure seems to be a problems with the connection. The strange thing is, that I have no...
Hey, I've asked a bunch of questions here before and I'm incredibly grateful for the help I've received. After having used Fuji and Sony for a couple of months I generally prefer Sony, mostly out of habit and familiarity. I'd like a more portable setup though esp for the winter where I'd like to attempt some night/astro photography. I usually don't shoot any sports or so, but if I do I'm blessed with being able to borrow an A99 II with a 70-200 2.8. For everything else it's landscapes and...

Hi, I know these cameras are fairly different, but for a variety of factors, these have become my front runners. I am curious about how much better (if any) the dynamic range and ability to recover (over/under exposure) in raw is on the Fuji GFX 50S. Both of these cameras are kind of niche in different ways, so hard to find anyone that knows.. I know the A99 II uses the same sensor as the A7R II, but it has a translucent mirror that does affect iso performance, and perhaps other things as...
I'm tethering with my a99II (2 months old) using a tether tools jerkstopper and cable and all of a sudden they disconnect and or wont stay in ,by that ,I mean I a got a new one out of the packet and the same ....I haven't dropped ,pressed or leant on it unnecessarily...(.I know this pin configuration is used by other models and I prefer the mini but..) I then used the little cable that I got with the camera and it seems to work fine (in a short test this evening) I'm under the impression...
I am deciding on a full frame high MP "camera of my dreams". I recently brought a Nikon D810 and was greatly disappointed in that I couldn't get the autofocus to work. I then returned it and was looking at the Canon 5Ds. I was reading the reviews on THIS camera and found many comments on their autofocus problem. Looking now at Sony's a99 II which brags about their excellent autofocus. I am having trouble deciding between the a99 II and the a7R II, The a99 II demands # 500-600 more. For the...

So the time has come to start looking for a new full frame. I was not particularly ever considering an upgrade for a while, especially since Sony was going E-mount the whole way for years. Eventually I will need to switch, I told to myself, but then comes the A99 II which blew me away and surprised me as a new A-mount full frame that took care of a lot of concerns. I have an A850 that has served me well over the years, and a healthy collection of great glass (Sony 85mm 1.4 ZA, 135mm 1.8 ZA,...
