Hi, everyone! I really would like to upgrade to a Sony full frame camera (right now I shoot with a Sony a57). I found a used Sony a99 for a good price, but the problem is that none of my lenses are compatible with full frame sensors. I have also found a Sony 50mm 1.4 for a good price, and intend to buy that with camera. However, I am aware of the age of both the camera and the lens, and was wondering if it is worth paying almost $1,200 for both. Any opinions and thoughts would be much...
I currently own the following A-mount gear: A700, SSM/SAM - Sony 70-200G, Sony 70-300G, Sony 35/1.8, Sony 18-55, Sony 55-200 and some screw drive stuff (Sony 11-18, Minolta 28-75/2.8, Minolta 70-210/4, Minolta 50/1.7, Minolta 18-70), HLV-56 flash. I also own the following E-mount gear: A6000, Sony 16-50, Sony 10-18/4, Sony 35/1.8 and LEA3 adapter. I'm considering getting a full-frame camera (have a grand child on the way) so I'd like some advice on what to get. Should I get an A99 or an...

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site but not photography. I've done a lot of searching so far but haven't found the thread that convinces me yet so I'm sorry if I'm rehashing stuff that has been addressed. I am a casual shooter for the past 15 years. I started with a Minolta Maxxum 7 in 2002 and then transitioned to a Maxxum 7D when digital began to take over. In 2012, I wanted to update my capabilities and picked up a Sony Alpha 700. Seems I've been following along the lines of...
Folks, I am considering adding a used A99 to go along with my A77II. It just so happens there are two available at a well known camera store in Georgia in the $1400 range. Is there a way to know how many shutter activations have occurred? Anything past 50% of the shutter life probably is not a good deal regardless of price. Thanks, Rick Battle Vero Beach, FL.
Not sure if this is a problem specific to the A9, but when I am doing video (4k) sometimes the exposure just suddenly goes dark for a second and then adjusts itself. Is this just the exposure getting confused for a second? Never had a problem like this with the A99 for example.
Hello, I seem to have a very hard time nailing focus with my a6500 when I am manually focusing using focus peaking, which is all the time. I love focus peaking and I use it rather than auto focus ON PURPOSE with my a99, and I don't have any problems. But with my a6500, I have to use it because I am using an adapted lens; I have no native e-mount lenses. I am using a Tamron 2.8 17-50, a lens that I really like and can get sharp images with. Tonight I was trying to shoot my daughter singing...
Hello, I am trying to pair my Samsung s5 phone with my A99 to get the GPS info. But the connection doesn't work. Other Bluetooth devices work without any problem on my phone. Also I can connect the A99 to my tablet and my pc, so Bluetooth is working on both but not together. Has anyone an idea of what could be wrong. Greetings Leon. --http://www.pictureshow.nl/
Hi, I am using Sony A99, i had tried Minolta 50 1.7 but i want option to replace it, there are many m42 mount vintage lenses but this time i want an auto focus lens. Like Sigma 50mm Art is way too expensive, I need a economic one which can deliver best. I went through some options and stick a bit on Minolta 50 1.4 what you guys suggest? experience and suggestions are welcome. --RegardsAfzal KhanKathmandu, Nepal
