HI, I've started taking photography lessons recently. So plz excuse if the question is too silly. The problem arose when I was taking shots of a small die cast car in my study room, with my Sony A57 and Minolta 50mm lens. The photos didn't look any good. I was doubtful about the lens at first, bcz this is a used lens which I bought from eBay. But later, I came to a conclusion thinking the lighting is bad or maybe I am not able to properly understand lighting and composition. The study room,...
Hey Guys, I have sony a 57 which I have been using since 4 years , had done many experiments. Now want to start up exploring with flash photography. I came to know through local camera store that to use third party flashes or wireless flash triggers like yongnuo we have to use Sony ADP-AMA . Is it true if yes can can i use the adapter for all flash epquipment? Cheers , Animesh

Hi everyone. I've been using Sony mirrorless cameras, for the past couple of years, so I normally post in another forum. With certain lenses and certain shooting situations, I find a "dslr type" of camera preferable. I already own and use several A-mount lenses on my mirrorless cameras. So, I'd been thinking about picking up an A-mount camera. I just came across a very clean A57 + 18-55 for a good price. After checking it out, the A57 was in good physical and working condition, so I bought...
Hello Being a new convert to MFT (up until now I've been all Sony; A57 & RX100iii), I was surprised to find that the live view / evf in my new EM10ii does not always show the actual exposure/appearance of the image before releasing the shutter, no matter what settings I choose. For example, on both my Sony cameras if I increase the shutter speed to grossly underexpose the image the live view/evf will go dark by the corresponding amount - so the image in the evf always perfectly matches the...
I am hunting for a decent macro flash without breaking a bank. I know of Sony makes HVL-MT24AM and Sigma has EM-140 DG, which would probably be the best options but are a little too expensive for me. I have read about ring lights like Sony HVL-RLAM and HVL-RL1, but everyone says its better to stay away from them as they are continuous lights. What other options are possible as having a flash certainly helps with stopping the lens down to gain DOF?
I have a Sony SLT A57. One day a few months ago, my SD card would not "spring out" of the slot. I had to get some tweezers to pull it out. So, I stuck it back in, and then back out again, but no spring eject anymore. I asked Dodd camera, who will not even look at it unless I pay the $40 look fee, advised I should just keep the existing card in there, and use the USB cord. SIGH... I would like to get it fixed.... but at what cost? I love this camera, and I want to keep it for a while,...
