I have a Sony SLT-A57. I've had it awhile and it my first dslr. I'm having a few setting problems. I have a natural eye for composition, but tweaking the settings has me being discouraged. I started in Automatic and Scene selection mode, but now use Program mode a lot. Manual mode is over my head! Actually dslr is over my head, but I try! My first question is why, when I look through the view finder on a bright sunny day, does the image I see seem very dark; not at all like what I'm seeing...

i was thinking about buying a Flashpoint Xplor600 with the sony trigger to allow for TTL and HSS. My SLTA57 has the old iIOS Minolta flash shoe but Flashpoint trigger has the Multi Interface shoe. Will using an adapter allow me to use the trigger and still have TTL/HSS capability? If not is there another way to accomplish this?

I was reviewing my pictures and dozed off and my camera fell on the floor, ( I know, I know, exciting pictures, snooze) and now the image stabilization doesn't work, and they want $115 per hour to fix it. I could quickly spend more than a used replacement would cost..Has anybody had this situation? Is it something you can fix yourself? My LCD screen appears to be delaminating, too. Love the camera, but could use a little guidance here. Thanks.

I am thinking of trading in my Sony A57 to get the OMD E-M 10 II. Are there any cheaper long lenses available for this camera? Since it seems as if Sony is trying to do away with the A mount and the cost of there long lenses, I am thinking of making the switch. I am still a noob when it comes to photography so I am not sure what to really expect. I am looking at getting some BIF and a little reach to get nature photos. I currently only have 75-300 with my sony. I could purchase the Minolta...

HI, I've started taking photography lessons recently. So plz excuse if the question is too silly. The problem arose when I was taking shots of a small die cast car in my study room, with my Sony A57 and Minolta 50mm lens. The photos didn't look any good. I was doubtful about the lens at first, bcz this is a used lens which I bought from eBay. But later, I came to a conclusion thinking the lighting is bad or maybe I am not able to properly understand lighting and composition. The study room,...

I'm using a Neewer TT560 as a slave, and a Sony A57 with the built-in as the master. The setup works fine until the slave's power is at 1/1 or 1/2, at which point the photo is dark. A longer exposure has no effect.

Hi everyone. I've been using Sony mirrorless cameras, for the past couple of years, so I normally post in another forum. With certain lenses and certain shooting situations, I find a "dslr type" of camera preferable. I already own and use several A-mount lenses on my mirrorless cameras. So, I'd been thinking about picking up an A-mount camera. I just came across a very clean A57 + 18-55 for a good price. After checking it out, the A57 was in good physical and working condition, so I bought...
