Hello, I was wondering if there's ANY way, where I can use my SLT a57 as a sort of webcam? I was thinking that I wanted to get more out of the camera, since i don't use it for anything than taking pics of car shows, car events or car action events. I don't really do that, too often... And I want to up the quality in my stream.
In David Busch's otherwise excellent book on the A57 he gives an inadequate description of these two bracketing settings. The Alpha SLT-A57 camera has two exposure bracketing modes: Continuous (BRK C), in which three exposures at the adjusted settings are taken when you hold down the shutter button; and Single (BRK S). When exposure bracketing is set, three small inverted triangles appear above the center of the exposure scale in the viewfinder or on the LCD (if activated in the Custom 2...

Hi! I've had an agonizing month that was topped off by receiving a defect a57 this Friday. After getting my money back from the seller (they accepted without argument after seeing my pictures), I now maybe have to buy another camera. This is when that "Mr Creosote" feeling sets in of "...just a tiiiiiiiny little", those of You who have seen the movie know what I mean....eventually You blow up. So, in my previous thread the overwhelming repsonse was that, YES, it is worth it to pay $380 for an...
Is there any kind of additional crop to the sensor that reduces the field of view when recording video on the RX10iv? I'm looking to upgrade from an SLT-a57 that has served me well. One of the annoying things about that camera is that switching to video mode adds something like a 1.2x crop to the lens. 24mm equiv becomes almost 29mm equiv, etc. Does the RX10 do anything like this when recording, whether it's 4K, 1080p120, or the other 1080p framerates? I'm guessing that the HFR options...

I have read all DPR reviews about the a57, a65 and a77Mk1. The a55 is also good but the a57 is better in everything so I don't consider it. GPS is nice but I have a separate logger. What strikes me is that all cameras get a gold reward but the reviewers seem most happy with the a57. 16MP is fine for me, I have both a99 and NEX-6 and really the difference is not that great. But the a57 get top remarks for low noise and fast AF. Also operation seems more snappy and the buffer is L-A-R-G-E and...
Purchased a A57 and need to plug a PC cord to it. I have a older Sunpak 522 & 544 that I would love to use with this camera. I bought a 'Safe Converter' slide-on to the Hotshoe adapter, but it does not fire the flash. I have done a bit of research, enough to make me nervous....about trigger voltage. So my question is, what should I buy that will solve this problem ? Thanks SO MUCH for any advice or suggestions.
