Hey guys, I'm new to photography (got my NEX about four months ago) and I mostly do portrait, nude and toy photography. Wanting to improve the quality of my work, so I'm buying a 50mm lens (and a Sony a6000 as well), but I'm wondering about which one is better here. I'm quite okay with manual focus (I mostly use manual anyway, since I shot stills), so that isn't a problem, but I'm wondering if anyone did a comparison between both lenses? The Rokinon seems to be awesome with f1.2, but I'm...

So, little info on what I got, what I want to do, and asking which direction I should be going... Since June of 2013, I have a little Sony NEX-F3, which for a newbie photographer like me has done a very good job. It came with it's standard 18-55mm manual zoom lens, and a few pretty crappy third-party wide-angle and telephoto lens adapters in the bundle that I bought (both of which I rarely used). Now, I primarily wanted this camera since it seemed simple to learn on, but flexible enough with...
I currently have a Fuji X-E2 and an NEX-F3 and for birding (casual stuff only) and kids, I find the NEX to be much more proficient. Don't laugh, birds and kids are very similar subjects, they both move quickly and unpredictably! I like to take photos of birds in flight and like to shoot with multi-area focus and continuous autofocus, and the F3 does surprisingly well. In all categories that matter (autofocus speed, shutter lag, and most importantly the ability to focus on a small object in...

I do YouTube tech videos which are generally usually based inside, and I decided that I would upgrade to a new camera. What is the best camera that I can find used or refurbished (somewhere) for $200-$275? Here's a list that I made of cameras that I would be able to get for that much used. These are all either Compact SLRs or Full size DSLRs, because I feel as if Dslr's sort of have more "features" and "Customization" with ebing able to shoot in raw, and interchangeable lenses and what not,...
Hello I am seeking some guidance on what should I do to get a proper shot with my Nex-F3 and kit lens (18-55). I am still in the learning stages (Aperture mode) and I took this macro shot. I think I like what I took, however, why is my image so large? This is a crop (image 1) from the original image (image 2). I have seen many macro shots on this website where the original image is not this big (in terms of capturing the side scenery). Is it because I don't have the right lens or is it that I...
OK, I am limited to a budget of $400.00 to pickup a new camera. I am a beginner and this camera will be my first dslr. I want to use this camera for general purpose photography (family, vacations, some video, etc.) I can get the nex-f3 for $350.00 with two lenses (18-55 mm and 55-200 mm). The rebel comes with two lenses (18-55 and 75-300) with a price of $400.00. Which is a better all around camera? Thanks

I will be in Africa for three months and I hope to take a couple of safaris while I'm there. I have a Sony NEX-F3 with a 18-55mm lens. I was looking into a 75-300mm lens however I will need a LA-EA2 lens adapter and I've read that slows down the auto-focus. Should I consider the 55-210mm, will that be enough? Any suggestions? Thank you for your interest...and advice.

I'm something of a hobbyist shooter, currently own a Nikon J1 and Sony NEX-F3, I've also used DSLRs (most recently the Nikon D5100). I've developed a gallery of photos over the years, and currently have 2 PBase galleries. I like them in terms of how they work (ability to customize the look of each page, "nested" subgalleries, can upload multiple JPEGs at once as a .zip file), but I am wondering if I should also be hosting photos elsewhere if I'm seeking more "visibility" as it were, as they...
