I originally was using my Nex5R with the manual Industar 69 Pancake lens but decided i also needed AF so i just today got the 16-50 OSS... this thing is damn silent !!! AF-S mode works great no problems here...the issue is with AF-C Problem is when using the AF-C mode and disabling AEL Lock then when shutter button is half pressed the AF is working and adjusting the focus but i still dont get the different metering from going to a bright spot to a dark area of my room...it is as if the...
Hello fellow Sony users. I am a relatively inexperienced filmmaker, and I have a relatively low budget. Therefor I use older cameras that I get cheap, and then I upgrade slowly when I find out what functionality they lack and I need. Learning by doing I guess. I currently use the NEX-7 as my primary camera, and I have encountered a problem. I do a lot of travel movies where I talk to the camera while holding it out in one arm. That means I cannot see the screen. When I come home and see the...
I have a Sony NEX-5r and I'm looking to purchase my first lens. I found a few that I'm interested in, but I can't for the life of me figure out if they are compatible with my camera. When I do a search, I come up with lenses compatible with about all the other NEX series cameras, but not the 5r. To give you an idea of what i'm looking for, I want something with a wider aperture range than the lens that came with my camera. Somewhere starting at f/1.4 or f/1.8. I want a lens that promotes...
I am examining the ways to do daylight long exposures without ND filters. I am aware that it can be done via multi-exposures & photo-stacking in Photoshop, but I find it a bit awkward to stand in one place for a long time to take all the shots and a waste of time and card space. Given the minimum aperture of f36 available in PZ 16-50, I thought maybe I could take advantage of a smaller aperture to slow down the shutter (the increase in DOP is a non issue). The question is, at what aperture do...

I have three different cameras and want to make sure I get them all set correctly so the footage is compatible when I go to edit a video. I have a Sony RX100 iii, a Sony NEX-5R, and a GoPro 4 Silver. The GoPro records in MP4 and the Sony cameras record in AVCHD or MP4, but the settings for MP4 are limited. Will it be an issue when I go to edit if the Sony footage is in AVCHD and the GoPro is MP4? Can anyone suggest what settings to use for each camera? Sony RX 100 M3: (AVCHD) 60p Avg. 28 Mbps...
Hey everyone so I just noticed my Sony NEX-5T has a focusing noise issue (its noticable when its pretty quiet) when autofocusing it's more present with a high shutter speed or focus close on things on my kit lenses but on my SEL50F18 it's constant in video & before I take a photo with it. If any of you have a NEX 5R/5T please test it out! If mine is defective I will take it back for repair it's very annoying Thank you so much! (: It sounds like this I found a video on Youtube I wonder if it's...

Hi Guys, Bit Background (Feel free to skip to list :-) ) I recently started learning about photography as a hobby. Initially, I wasn't sure how far I would go into this so I just preferred to stick to my smartphone camera rather than making any investments n a camera. And 1 year later, I can say it has grown a lot on me. So far I had been using my smartphone (OnePlus One) as my primary camera. Mostly I tried to learn and understand whatever was available to me, like composition, shutter...
I am not sure if I should rent the Zeiss 32mm 1.8 or the Sony 35mm 1.8.I plan to use it to shoot video, and was wondering if the Sony's lens with image stabilization would be the better solution?https://www.borrowlenses.com/product/Zeiss-Touit-32mm-f18-Lens-for-Sony-EMounthttps://www.borrowlenses.com/product/Sony-35mm-f1-8-OSS-E-Mount-Lens
Like some of you, I would like to replace the top layer. But when I'm peeling off, seems like something is not right... the ugly screen. Something not right... Never see anyone on the internet have this. Is the replacable? What do you think this is? How can I fix this? If I'm really screw up, is Sony still providing replacement service? Thanks for you help in advanced.
