Hi everyone, Im going for a trip soon and looking for a better way to get around with my NEX5 camera. Im carrying it with 35mm and a 16-50mm lens Since most of the day I'll be hiking around and almost always with a bag on me, I thought it would be best if I'll get the Peak design clip and attach it on my shoulder straps. Then I got hungry for the accessories and decided to get a tripod too. I used to have the joby gorilla pod which is flexible and its great when going hiking. Its very...

Have just got back from once in a lifetime 4 month trip in South America. 1/.Have taken over 5000 pics. with my Sony NEX-5. Unfortunately during trip blue sky or similar light background pics commenced showing up several spots which could not be remedied by lense cleaning. Advice on best program/ procedure to rectify these pictures would be appreciated. 2/. Upon submittal of Camera for service I have been advised sensor is damaged and it would be best to upgrade to new camera. I liked the...
Hey everyone so I just noticed my Sony NEX-5T has a focusing noise issue (its noticable when its pretty quiet) when autofocusing it's more present with a high shutter speed or focus close on things on my kit lenses but on my SEL50F18 it's constant in video & before I take a photo with it. If any of you have a NEX 5R/5T please test it out! If mine is defective I will take it back for repair it's very annoying Thank you so much! (: It sounds like this I found a video on Youtube I wonder if it's...
Hello Everyone. I'm an amateur photographer that I takes pictures mainly when traveling. That`s the reason that I like my A6000(I had Nex5,nex6 before). I don`t like to carry too many lenses, I like to make it simple, so I bought the SEL18200LE that I use the most of the time, for me was working perfect, and I low light/landscape shoots i use the SEL16F28 that is really small and could be combined with a fisheye adapter. Sadly a few weeks ago my SEL18200LE started to fail (it vibrates all...

I was a happy user of the A6000 until I discovered that the sensor had a banding issue in certain light conditions. The condition where it was the most visible was when having a bright light source (for instance the sun) in the frame or just outside, causing lens flare to light up darker parts of the frame. It appeared for me to be more visible with longer focal lengths (not so much in the widest of angles) together with low aperture (greater apeture opening). In some former discussion...

I am getting a cheap full spectrum modified Sony Nex-5 for IR Photography to replace my Sony DSC-V1. I have been reading up on the sigma lenses and they seem quite good bang for buck. And they also don't suffer from any hot spots. However the difference between the two lenses are minimal, but the older one uses a different lens coating or lack of one compared to the newer lens. I was wondering if this would make any difference to shooting IR? I plan on using my current Hoya r72 (which i use...
I have been using nex-5 for around 4 years now, and want to upgrade to full frame. A7R and A7II are about the same price here in India Here's my use case.. Type of Photography Street Architectures Few Landscapes + Night Method Manual focus with old lenses, No hurry for shots Hand held ( Tripod always in backpack though ) Mostly on 55mm Helios or 28mm Vivitar primes, sometimes on 80-200mm Albinar No video shooting Notes The primary selection factor is the stabilisation in A7II vs Better...
I am thinking of upgrading from a Nex 5 to the a6000. My main reason for upgrading is to get a viewfinder. It looks like I can buy the a6000 body only in which case I would have the kit lens from my Nex to pair with it. Should I go that route or go ahead and get the kit lens with the a6000. The difference is $150 if I go body only. I can see that the a6000 lens has the power zoom feature. And the Nex lens is a different color so it won't match the camera. But is that $150 better spent on...
