My first (and best) experience with mirrorless DSLR was two early Sony models, the NEX-3 and the NEX-5. Both were rather small, but my favorite part of the design of the NEX-3 was its very thin design: only 1.5 inch thick (without lens), weighing 370g without a lens. This made it easy for me to pocket it when using pancake lenses or pinhole lenses, as it eventually took as little space as a non-removable lens camera such as the Panasonic DMC-LX7 for example, while providing the option to...
I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before; searched the forum and didn't find anything. I'm going to see the eclipse on the 21st, and I'd like to try to take some photos. I have a NEX-5 with the two original lenses: 3.5-5.6/18-55 OSS, and the 2.8/16. And I have a cheap tripod. I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money. I just want to take a couple photos, and enjoy the event. I'd prefer to buy from Amazon (I have prime), but if I know what to look for, I can try a local place. Thanks!
Hello all. I feel like I have been cheating on you. I used to have a NEX5 and an A6000 and I learned photography in this very forum. But then I got a D750 :-( Anyways I do real estate photography and I needed a capable backup that had great video so I got an A6500. Trouble is I can't seem to figure something out so I know you guys could help. When I do real estate I frequently use bracketing. On the Nikon you can select bracket, set it to 5 shots at 3.0 values of separation between them. This...
This is a question for everyone holding on a Nex camera, or one of the A5000, or A5100, hoping to get a good update, same small size camera. I went to Best Buy to see if I can convince myself to buy A5100, but no full touch screen. An A6000 and A6300 were on display, but I didn't care for larger size and more brick stile. I would get a 24 Mpx sensor like it's in A5100 and with an updated processor, but A5100 doesn't have full touch screen, the flip screen doesn't tilt down for overhead...
I have a NEX-5 and I'm now thinking about upgrading to a A6300, but I am still not sure. I considered a Canon 80D first, but honestly I will mostly bring my camera with me on travels and for that I need it to be on the smaller side, otherwise I'll just end up leaving it in my suitcase. I also want to shoot video, is this camera good enough or should I consider the Lumix GH4 instead? So for travel photography + video, would the A6300 be a good choice? And lenses- these are the ones I have...
I'm looking for a walking-around, street photography camera. My workhorse is a Canon 1Dx with a slate of lenses, but it's a beast. It's too huge to take with me on trips, and it's too heavy even to want to take with me around town. I want something light and easy to carry, something that takes great shots, with a nice, sharp prime as my standard lens. My last attempt, which I never really loved, was a Sony NEX-5. I bought it with the Zeiss 24/1.8 lens, and in spite of the lens being...
I'm stacking photos through a bellows and extension tubes in 3 shot bursts but the camera randomly decides whether to store as portrait or landscape, even within a 3 shot burst. Is there a way to fix the orientation? Even if I change them via photo-editing to the same orientation the stacking programme still rejects them
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to full-frame photography. I came from a Sony NEX-5T with cropped sensor lenses, to an A7 (I know it's slightly old now) My lenses I am currently using: SEL5018 SEL30M35 SEL1855 and a Sigma 30mm prime lens (entry level for the NEX-5) Would it be better for me to upgrade my current NEX-5 lenses to the FE types? Would I get a noticable performance upgrade? Or would I be wasting cash for not very much difference? I'm currently using the cropped sensor mode on the A7...
