Hi Guys, I've posted a question in the Studio and Lighting Technique forum regarding a problem I'm currently having. I would greatly appreciate if someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I own 2 Godox V860II-S and been using them without issues with my older A-mount cameras. I've recently mounted the flash on my Sony A7R IV and encountered these limitations: 1- Instead of 5, the flash has only 2 operation modes when mounted (optical master and optical slave). The other 3 modes (radio master, radio slave and the normal TTL/M) are not available anymore. They come back by turning off the camera or unmounting the flash. 2- The rear sync option is turned off (grayed-out on the...

I noticed my Sony A7Riv sensor appears mostly purple when looking at it from most angles and lighting. I thought sensors were supposed to look green, but I have found several photos online which show the A7Riv sensor as purple like mine, so this seems to be the normal color of the sensor under at least some viewing conditions. For reference, below is a photo of my A7riv's sensor how it usually looks (purple) and a photo of it away from direct light sources where it appears a pale green. For...

I'm about to pull the trigger (pun intended) on a simple remote for extended exposure to catch a star trail BUT holding off the purchase on some advise on this forum... I have got bitten by the HDR bug.... What I don't really know is if I would benefit from more shots to stack.. the camera generally hovers on 3 or 5 ... I have attached a link to some of my recent photos and posted smaller versions below so you know what I am taking.. I basically want to understand if I would see a marked...

I plan to convert ARW files to DNG files for use in Aurora HDR (which still doesn't support the A7Riv raw files). Is there any reason to keep the uncompressed ARW files? Is there anything that they can do that DNG files cannot? DNG is a lossless compression, right?

Hi I am fortunate enough to be able to splash out and buy either the Sony A7S3 or the A7RIV. I have watched almost every comparison and review video on Youtube and really don't feel any wiser - so I hope that you good people can help me. Here's my situation: I am mainly a photographer. I some times do videos at work (I am working as a media specialist in a commercial company) and is really enticed by the A7S3 and all it's bells and whistles. As I said: I am mainly a photographer, doing stills...

Hi all. I'm currently located in US. I recently bought from Adorama a sony a7r4 with a 24mm f/1.4 prime lens and 24-105 f/4. The 24-105 was pretty decent, but the 24 f/1.4 seems to have some serious quality issue. The first copy of 24 1.4 I received produced images softer than I expected at the corners, so I asked for an exchange and the exchanged copy was visibly sharper. However, the second copy made this weird high pitch squeal subtly when I tilt the body downwards. I initially thought it...

Hi there, This afternoon I noticed some dark areas in the electronic view finder of my camera. This isn't on the sensor, as it is clean and the dark areas don't show up on the back panel or when viewed on my computer. I managed to take a video of what I'm talking about with my phone, though it's not perfect, but I hope you'll get a good sense of what it looks like. https://imgur.com/a/4hkOjcs I talked to Sony support and they gave me a shipping label for it to be sent to a service center, but...

Below is the OOC (extra fine) jpeg of a 3.2-second exposure I took in South Beach with my Sony A7Riv and Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM at f/10 and 28mm. My concern is that, even though I took this photo at ISO 100, there seems to be a lot of color noise in the sky. Also, the water looks off to me, like it doesn't look as good as it should. I can't really describe why, as obviously I don't expect the water to be sharp at this shutter speed (motion blurred water is the goal of long exposures). But do...
