Announced Feb 12, 2014 •
24 megapixels | 3 screen | APS-C sensor

I used to shoot RE and church services with my old a58 + kit lens. I needed a wide angle lens to shoot RE and a faster lens to shoot church services. So a friend introduced me the a6000. I borrowed it for a week, shot some RE and test it out during a church service she was also shooting at. It was love at first sight so I bought one for myself! I could just have bough new lenses, but the idea of a new camera was whispering in my ears lol. In the beggining It was quite a good camera, felt more ...

Been trying to write a review of this camera for 6 months. Of course in that time the A6300 has come out, but the A6000 is still relevant so here goes. More detailed thoughts here http://photographyformortals.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/the-sony-a6000-review.html Pros For the price still about the best interchangeable mirrorless camera you can buy Light and easy to carry around. The kit lens makes it a small very portable system, which will make you want to leave your SLR behind With a fast lens ...

I bought this camera based on reviews, I admit that it's blazing fast and image quality is very good, however month after month I was missing more and more from it until finally I decided it's not a camera for me. What I missed? - direct access to various settings - order in menus - proper jpegs out of camera (I HAD to rework each and every raw to my taste) - binding auto ISO with shutter speed The thing is, every now and then I had to dive into menus to change simplest settings. I found a ...

11fps and quick focus makes me happy capturing my kids playing. I just wish the battery life would have been better. I just bought another battery pack to take care of that. You just cannot beat the features it gives at that cost. An extra battery pack never hurts anyway. I was a long time Canon enthusiast user with D350 (yes, I know. Old but it worked for me), 70-200/2.8, 17-50/2.8 and 105M/2.8 lenses. I was planning to replace the camera with a newer one this year to complement my ...

There was a problem with my A6000 in that the colours -mainly red were too too weak, I played around with the saturation -up to plus 2 but as this spoilt the colour balance would not use it like that. I did notice if a small part of the frame had a reddish object showing the red colour seemed correct--but if you zoomed in without doing anything else the reddish roof faded --as if the exposure was over exposed ( blown out) A direct comparison was made with my Canon SX700 and LG G2 phone and ...

Bought to supplement my existing NEX-6 The mirror-less body was far to prone to dust and debris on CCD. I now run the NEX-6 with the 55-210 lens and the a6000 with an SEL18-55 a6000 digital/manual focus feature does not work. Software bug that I rang Sony about but I was advised that they cannot do anything about it! When manually focussing, the image zooms to a portion of the frame but takes up to 10 seconds to return to standard frame. Camera is set to 2 seconds. This rendered the camera in ...

Disclaimer: Before you all bash and hate, my opinion and review is based on my personal needs and wants. This may be a great camera for you in which you should certainly go out and buy it, but never take one person's opinion too seriously. I hope however that this will share some insightful information. Enjoy :) So the a6000 is one of the most popular, most defining mirrorless cameras out there right now. It's certainly affordable, compact and loaded with features. It retails for about $600 ...

NO TOUCH SCREEN and the 1990's arrow keys to input passwords for WiFi and the like is down right cheap. Unfortunately there can be no future firmware updates to correct this very obvious oversight until a new version comes out. The whole WiFi and app experience stinks. While I can't complain about the performance and price of the camera for its picture taking abilities (after all that's why one buys a camera) it's on the software side and in particular the apps that they charge for are ...

I'm in the market for a solid camera with excellent image quality and low light performance and fast. I've had Canon 7D with kit lenz (55 - 200mm)? The image quality was out of this world, so as build quality, but felt old and huge, but had what I wanted 1/8000 meant crisp fast shots with 7 or 8 fps My first impression of sony was Nice quality camera, fast, excellent night shots. The 11 fps mirror-less and solid low light performance given smaller size sold it to me. But exporting the day ...

PRO: - Small & good built quality - Focus is fast (compared to my D90) and flexible due to more focus point - LCD is good and EVF feels OK even though still far from OVF - The IQ is very good compared to my 12Mp D90 in high ISO - The AWB is OK in mix lighting and tend to cooler side. - Price is good, I got early bird discount and free battery - Wifi feature helps mobile transfer - Focus peaking helps using manual lenses and LCD/EVF shows exposure while closing/opening aperture - Universal hot ...
