Hello all, I am currently looking for a 70-200 lens for sports photography on my A7iii and I don't know which to choose between. I'm looking at the 70-200 f4 or the SAL 70-200 f2.8G with the la-el4 adapter. Not sure how the adapted lens will perform, but these two are come out to about the same price. If there are any other FE telephotos lenses under 1k US, please let me know. Any advice to help me choose will be greatly appreciated!
I got the F4 because I can live without 2.8 and wanted to save some weight. But whereas the 2.8 was great wide open, I find the F4 versions a little lacking. Even though reviews regard this as a very sharp lens. It always feels like there was some kind of shake or movement. Is this normal or am I'm too critical? It sharpens up nicely but by then you're losing more than a stop of light. F4 F5.6 F8
intermediate photographer, mainly do travel photography. I'm torn between these two.. I like the reach and the compression it comes with the 300mm but the lower aperture, IQ and lack of tripod mount is drawing me away from it! Anyone owned both or has input to help guide me? I would really appreciate it! Cheers
Hi! Let me describe the scenario. Hiking. One day or a few days trip. Swedish wintertime. Not totally convinced on how weather sealed will be my Sony a6300 or my two main lenses, Sony F1.8 35mm and F4 70-200 What would I like to find: some (waterproof) pouch I can somehow hang from my backpack to stay in the middle of my chest, so I can have the camera at hand but not just hanging from the neck while walking, and snowshoeing, possibly under snowfall, probably with ice particles loaded...
I'm shooting with an A7ii and the Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens. Looking to rent something better/faster/sexier to shoot a wedding in upstate NY next month. (I'll also be bringing along some old Canon FD glass of varying sizes for the more artistic stuff.) Currently considering renting one of the following: Sony FE 24-70/2.8 Sony FE 70-200/2.8 Sony FE 24-105/4 Sony FE 70-200/4 (maybe buying this one?) would love your input! Any obsessions with either of them? Any horror stories? Thanks!
I have concluded to buy a 70-200mm but which one is my biggest problem at this point. The 70-200 f/4 Sony lens are a beautiful lens but how is this compared to a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS II with a metabones V adapter, they are about the same price in my county so interested if somebody has tried it out!! Thanks in advance
I suspect I am looking for a magical unicorn that doesn't exist, but thought I'd ask anyway. I currently have an a6300 + 18-105 F4 and a Sigma 30mm F1.4. Both fine lenses. I mostly shoot my daughters sports and some candid people shots at social gatherings. My daughter is 11 and plays competitive ringette (like hockey, but different), is involved in track & field, and more recently became a soccer goalkeeper. My 18-105 wasn't superb in the ice rink, but with some cropping it was decent. I...
I purchased this lens from a colleague. When I use it with my A6300 it seems to exaggerate the colors. I took the exact same picture with my 16-70/f4 lens and the colors are a lot more natural. I did take these pictures thru a window but as you can see I perfectly fine more natural picture from my 2 other lenses. Any thoughts? with the 70-200/f4 with the 16-70/f4 with the Rokinon 8mm fisheye
