How fast does the A6500 focus A-mount SSM lenses with the LA-EA3? How does this combination's focus speed compare to their focusing speed on A-mount cameras (especially my A580)? How does this combination's focus speed compare to native E-mount lenses' focus speed? In case it matters, the two lenses I'm most interested in are the DT 16-50mm f/2.8 SSM and the Tamron SP 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di USD. Background: my trusty A580 started showing mechanical problems today. If I have to replace it, it...

This has been gradually getting worse, and not having a MFA on this body means it's now a affecting my hit rate to the point it's a problem. The lenses are DT16-50 2.8 and DT55-300. Both exhibit the same issue on the same body, less obvious so on my backup A58. I find it odd that my beercan doesn't have this issue on my A65. Am I running to the limits of the A65 with those lenses. Is the A65 focus or the lenses worn out somehow? Do those lenses need a tune up, or does my kit - a body upgrade?...

Hi, I was just given a sony a7sii from a friend who got a newer camera. I currently use an a77 with three lenses. They are the Sony 4.5/5.6/70-300 G SSM, the Sony 2.8/70-200 G SSM, and the Sony DT 2.8//16-50 SSM. Because these are A mount lenses and the a7s is an E Mount camera, I am trying to figure out the best way to use the lenses on the a7s. I would like to use the camera for astrophotography but also video. The main adapter I am looking at is the Sony LAEA3 adapter. what effects, if...

As an amateur enthusiast with a limited budget for camera equipment, I've been looking at upgrades with an approximate budget of around £500 ($625 or €590 at present!).  I use a Sony A58 which as you'll know is an entry level SLR type camera, but in general I have found it pretty good. I have a bunch of used Minolta AF lenses, my kit lens (the 18-55 SAMII) and a cheap Sigma 70-300.  The main issues I have with my current gear is with focus and general sharpness. While I can't fault the...

Has anyone had any combination of these lenses side by side to compare?  The A6300 has impressed me so much, I'm gonna reward it with a nice fast standard zoom. :)  Already have a Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 II on an LA-EA3 that works perfectly on the A6300.  Just looking for a standard zoom that will be sharp enough for it wide open throughout the frame.  A smooth focus ring would be nice, as well.  Reviews out there are kind of mixed for all of them, but then there are people that swear by them,...

Hi Could someone tell me what it is to use a DT lens (Sony 16-50 f2.8, usually paired with A77) on a full frame camera? What's the effect? Did someone try this? What're your observations? Thanks. Cheers Mohan

Hi everyone, I'm about to buy my first good camera - a6000. Previously I had a simple cyber-shot. My main concern now is which lens should I choose for the beginning. My problem is that I've read on many forums, also here, that it's a good deal to take it with a kit lens since you pay very little for it and in case of the a6000 it's ok as a kit camera could be. But recently I've watched the review (made by Lav... on a popular video site, not sure if I can promote it here) where it was mostly...

My bigma arrived today, and I realise that it is never going to fit into my camera bag.  So I need a recommendation, please, for a bag that will take: My Sony A77ii with its 16-50/2.8 Sigma 10-20/3.5 A 15inch laptop Set of Formatt-Hitech 85mm filters and adapter rings and Sigma 50-500/4.5-6.3 apo os hsm Ideally your recommendation will also fit BA's current carry-on recommendation.  I should like to be able to attach a tripod (which travels in my checked luggage when I fly). Thanks in...

Actually i have the Tamron 17-50, and it works beautifuly, it's almost all the time on my A77. But in my country, the Sony 16-50 is selling for $500 new, and i can sell my tamron in $380; so for only $120 i can "Upgrade" to the Sony. I like the weather sealing and SSM of the Sony, also the 16mm vs 17mm it's welcome, because i use my tamron mostly for astro, landscapes and social photos (Here are my photos with the Tamron https://www.flickr.com/photos/biovipah/sets/72157642161320685/ )Do you...
