Hello, Currently the file names (aka numbers) are DSC followed by 5 numbers. Ex: DSC02345. I am wondering if it is possible to change this setting to have it based on date / time the picture is taken. Ex 20160812_103456 for a picture taken August 12th 2016 at 10h34m56s. When I look at the properties of my pictures, I see that the program name is DSC-WX300 v1.00. Thanks Denis
Hi, I have a Sony Cybershot DSC WX300 whaich was working well for the past 2 years. However, last couple of months I see that the outdoor pictures are too bright and hazy. Indoor and night shots are still ok. Can anyone advice what could be the issue ? I have attached a sample picture that was taken in bright sunlight, this was taken in 'intelligent auto' mode. The EV was default at 0. Image taken in bright sunlight.
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to put a video through SD card from a computer to a Sony WX300 camera. I have purchased this camera as a birthday present for a family member and I would like to put a video on the SD card that will come with the camera. I've tried putting several different formats of videos on to the SD card but camera doesn't recognise any of them. Is there a way to do this? Thank you very much!
Does WX-350 has a background defocus mode like WX-300 ? It contain only superior auto, intelligent auto etc. Why they remove that feature from the upgraded model ? is their any way to get that feature ? because i am planning to buy WX-350 because it is new model compared to WX-300 also i love that mode for shooting portraits.

Given new WX350 same sensor sizes, probably same optics as prior WX300 model, but a newer processor, is this leap in maximum ISO really possible / useful? Hard to imagine this tiny sensor can do anything like 12,800 ISO. (ISO spec for new WX350 of 12,800 from B&H Photo website). Comments and opinions are very welcome. Thanks, Larry
Hi there, Recently went to Tokyo and got to make pictures with my Sony WX300 and an 5D Mk II (not mine). Seeing the images from the latter one, there is no going back to my Sony compact camera. I am new to photography and I want to buy the Fujifilm X100S.Im in my last year of study (thank God) and in february I go to work on a cruisehip for 4 months. Places I will visit: San Diego, Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Caribbean Islands, Miami, Quebec, Montreal, Newfoundland. My job onboard will...
I just picked up a Sony WX300 as a pocket camera to carry around. But I've noticed something pretty odd about it... I swear that there is a fan inside this thing :/ If you put your ear to the camera while it's turned on, you can clearly hear the characteristic whooshing sound of a fan coming from inside, in any mode, even playback (It isn't the focus). I know that there probably isn't a fan inside such a small camera. But that's what it sounds like (Kind of like putting your ear to a...
Hello, I have been having such a difficult time trying to decide on this simple "Point and Shoot" pocket size Digital Camera. :( My current camera is that small but now a bit bulky Canon Power Shot SD600 Digital ELPH (3x zoom, 6.0 MP) which served me well. I need more zoom and decided to up grade for everyday use, shows and concert venues, Travel and family, etc. The following are important to me : 1) Zoom 2) Battery Life 3) Shake / hand stable control 4) Low Light capability 5) Price around...
WX300 is my first Sony. I'm very pleased with the small size, it being smaller than a Canon S100 which I find quite remarkable. Other than that I got pretty much what I expected from a small sensor, high MP, slow lensed super zoom - which is barely adequate IQ as long as your subject largely fills the frame or you reduce the size considerably. I knew this going in, so really no problem, I simply shoot at 5mp for the most part and sometimes reduce even further to get a reasonably sharp...
