I need a light weight camera for traveling, which can take good low light pics but 4K videos is not a must to have.   I am torn between the III and the IV, not knowing if I should pay the extra bucks for the IV.   Appreciate any feedback.

While I do most of my video with my Sony RX100M4, I haven't forgotten that the Nikon D800 is an amazing supplement tool in the area of video. I haven't really explore too deeply into the advantages it offer, but I am now trying to find out more. For one, my existing lenses are not designed for videos. The new AF-P lenses, with pulse motor and electronic diaphragm aperture, seem to be more video friendly. I've found video uses wide, extra wide angle so the only FX AFP lens 70-300 is no use for...

Hi All Got the RX100 iv and am a novice photographer, got a quick question when I take the occasional selfie.  When I am on auto mode (intelligent mode) and flip the screen to take a selfie, I am in focus but the people in the background is blurred.  For example, we were in a light plane and I was sitting up front and I was taking a selfie with my family and I was focused and the rest of my family in the back were blurred :( Probably a simple solution but I am novice and learning as much as I...

Hi Folks, Beginner here. I am wondering whether I should get a camera for stills. I currently have gopro hero 5 and sony xperia xz which I use for recording videos and taking stills. First question: Will a fixed 1'' lens camera would really be different than a phone camera or gopro 5 when you post the pictures online(instagram)? I mean especially in daylight. I mainly use camera for bicycle touring or hiking. Benefits of a a dedicated still camera for me would be the ability to zoom, better...

Hello,I got a new RX100m4, several hours into testing the camera and being in a quite room, I heard a fan like noise. I was a bit surprised that a camera has got a fan, so I started googling. I found some threads, mainly with the m3, describing the same problem.I did turn steadyshot off, manuel auto focus, but the humming noise is still there. When the camera is off and I open the view mode, the noise is gone (when the lens is not open)Here is the audio I extracted from a...

I am keeping my eyes open for these two model as my upgrade on my RX100M4. I am getting into video more and more and want to have a more solid video camera than the RX100M4, which I love, but it has its limitation because it is still a compact. I have been a life long Nikon shooter and I am still using the D800 for my still photo. I think I have enough assets here to switch to a good Sony system if I unload all my Nikon gears as well. That means I will be using the Sony 7? for m still photos...

So..I do professional work but also own more compact and "fun" cameras when I want to go with a small setup or for BTS stuff..or even selfies as I do with my G7X ii.Still....IQ is always important for me so I have been thinking on upgrading my G7Xii to a RX100 V as I had a chance to take a few photos with both and it seems the RX100 V is visibly superior across the frame for example at the widest focal range. Not only that, but the RX100 seems to give me a much closer look to a bigger sensor...
