Hello! So I shoot Sony professionally and have an RX100 V for just travelling, BTS shots, etc.I wanted to get another body for doing more videos for my youtube channel. Since the RX100 V cannot record more than 5 minutes in 4k before overheating, it is not ideal for what I need. So, I was going to get the A6300 but then I saw this great price on the GX85 with two lenses and found one rated at 10 for $100 less than the current deal so I just jumped on it before someone else took it but now...

Hi So I've been using RX100 M4 for a year now. If the subject is set up by myself the slow motion shot is awesome but when I am out and want to record slow motion from say animals, the subject  most of the time is out of focus. I missed a lot of good opportunities. For example a few months ago we've been in Tasmania and this beautiful white eagle dived to pick a fish the cruise owner threw it on the water and even though I was pointing to the same location, later on I realised everything is...

The manual focus implementation on canon powershot cameras is the clunkiest thing I've ever used. When turning the ring at a normal speed, I have to turn the front ring ~20 times to get from closest focus to infinity. If I make really fast erratic turns I can get through the range in fewer turns, but then I lose all precision. This is on my new G1X III, but I experienced the same thing on a G7x II and G9x II. There are other compact camera manufacturers that have, in my opinion, implemented...

I recently sold my RX100 IV and ordered the upcoming VI. I ran across this image on smallrig.com and wondered what was the Rode device being used and how it worked. I looked on rode.com and cant figure it out. Is there a way to wirelessly capture better audio with the RX100 series of cameras? Do you know what Rode device that is? Thanks!

Hello — this is my first post here. I'd like to do more macro photography of bugs 'n blooms, but am limited to a fairly/very light weight camera & lens thanks to a collagen disorder. Currently, I've been using a Sony RX100 iv and Raynox DCR-250, not an ideal choice for macro photography, but lightweight. I'm thinking of buying a Panasonic GX9 and using either a Panasonic Leica 45mm or an Olympus 60mm macro lens. Has anyone here used this combination? The Panasonic 45mm weighs 225 g and has...

I know that the Moza works better with bigger camera. I am trying to make it work with the smaller Sony RX100M4. I added a power bank and quick release and mount, and then added some weight. The only way I know how to add the weight is attaching it to bottom of the base plate screw. With that, the gimbal works fine (with the following exception). I am not able to perform the balancing of point the lens up or down and stay because the weight in the bottom is out of balance. I am not able to...

I have received the crane yesterday and starting the learning process of something totally new to me. I spent about 90 minutes in learning to set up and balance the Sony RX100M4 and here is what I have learned so far. The RX100M4 is a tag below the min. rated weight. I added a small Anker candy-bar power bank with velco attactment, which helps. I also learned that I had to keep the camera turned on so the lens is extended out. When the camera is off, the lens is retracted, which does not have...

After dabbling in video for 18 months, I am about to make a plunge into buying a handheld gimbal to expand my horizon. I have been relying on monopod and tripod for most of the footages. That works great but I am somewhat limited to static scenes. For movement, I use a strap and handheld the camera on a bracket but I still need to rely heavily in post processing stabilization to steady the frame. I think it is time for me to get a gimbal. I am sold on the Zhiyun Crane V2 3-Axis from what I...

Hi all. I have the rx100m4 but I'm gonna assume the answer is pretty much the same for all of the rx100s. My question is- what's the best scene mode or what are the best settings to photograph an indoor concert? At the moment I'm thinking it's High Sensitivity mode. Thanks in advance.
