The flash on my sony is far too bright. The images are so washed out as to be useless and irritating.I do not see any menu to reduce flash output. I was thinking of painting the lens with a gray film to reduce output. Any other ideas would be most helpful and appreciated

I own   a Sony Cybershot, I have the HX9V, 20v, wx350 and now the HX90V As if I came across a review that lead me to the ZS60...   I would love to know how well this will stand up against the Sony?  Knowing  the lcd screen does not fold, which I love that feature.  I know I have to give up to get more etc...   Love to hear some thoughts?

Cropped from 16X Optical Zoom Sony HX9V Point and Shoot Camera Cropped from Canon 600D 18-55mm kit lens at 55mm On 25th I went to capture the Cold moon using my DSLR but realized that I don't have a zoom lens, so I settled with 18-55mm at 55mm. However after I cropped it to make the moon prominent in the screen I saw it is not focused and details are not acceptable. Then I realized I could have very well taken my Good old Sony Cybershot HX9V and zoomed it to maximum 16X. Is it worth buying a...

Hi fellow videographers, I try to improve my sound when traveling or going outdoor and keep it simple at same time. For my small 'B camcorders' like HX9V I used to buy stick-on pieces of 'dead cat' from Windcutter, because it helped and was cheap to get. Now they are out of business for a while, but I still need a couple of fluffy patches for my new toy, original RX100 (I can afford toys mostly a few generations behind, but take it easy). Any suggestions, please? Any do it yourself tips?...

So I'm looking for a good camera to take to concerts. I currently have a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V (early 2011). While the video looks pretty good, it has trouble refocusing when the stage lights go between bright and dark. And the audio is decent, but if there's a lot of bass it gets very distorted. Acoustic songs sound great, but I mostly go to rock (and some rap and EDM) concerts. I also have a Sony HDRPJ260V Handycam (2012), but some venues don't allow camcorders, and it's almost...

Why can I not buy a small "travel zoom" camera with 20x or more optical zoom and the ability to capture images in RAW format? I am a 58 year old British bloke who first got interested in photography as an 8-year old.  I owned my first SLR (that I had personally worked to pay for) by the time I was 13.  I successfully completed a 3-year British degree course - B.A. (Hons) in Photography - in the late 1970s.  I then spent 20+ years as a professional photographer using top end Hasselblad and...

Hi everyone.  I just purchased a used Sony HX9V camera.  I'm having issues trying to connect the camera to my computer to transfer images.  Info:What I want to do:  simply connect to the computer and manage my photos via normal Windows file manager, etc.  This is what I've always done with my old Sony DSC-P100. What is happening:  If I connect the camera to the computer, I successfully get connections to three drives:  F (SD card), G (internal memory), and K (location of PMB Portable...

It seems that everything I have read and seen (in store) indicates that when you click the movie record button everything becomes automatic, including WB.  Does anyone know if there is a setting I am missing somewhere that will let me adjust WB manually for movies?I also can't seem to find an EV adjustment for the flash anywhere.  I have a feeling that that was missed on this camera as well.  I had an HX9v previously and I don't think it had the flash adjustment either.  Unfortunately the EV...

Hi,I had to upgrade from the Sony Cybershot HX5V to the HX9V, because the first one unfortunately did not approve of the Namibian dessert sandstorms. No tears shed though, the camera captured some shots for eternity which were totally worth it.However I do have some problems with the new camera. On the HX9V the burst-mode button has been replaced by a "custom" button. I loved to snap 10 pictures in a second from a moving object. To do that I manually set the shutter time to something fast,...
