I'm from Brazil and I'm going to NY next month and want to buy a new camera. I don't like taking my DSLRs to my trips because I need a compact camera to carry around, put on my wife's purse sometimes and even in my pocket if possible. I used a Sony HX50V in my past trips and it served me well. I think the screen brightness and shooting speed were its bad points, but overall it was a good camera, but I decided to step up a bit. I'm going for a new camera (won't have time to look for a used...
hi i'm looking for advice as i'm stuck picking a camera, my last camera was the sony dsc hx50v and i really liked it between video and picture quality but i'm looking for something newer, i am mainly looking for something that is compact and fit in my pocket with a killer zoom, i have come across a few to choose from and was wondering if anyone had an opinion, the cameras i found were the canon powershot sx700 or 720 hs or the sony dsc hx90v or the sony rx100
I purchased a Sony Cybershop HX50V and the Sony electronic viewfinder FDA-EV1M and was very happy with both for about 9 months. Then suddenly the viewfinder started showing a bar with the words "this accessory is not supported". I can't determine why this would happen or if there is a setting on the camera I can change. I have tried carefully cleaning the connectors on both camera and viewfinder. Is there a recommended cleaning method? Is there a reset on the camera? Any tips are much...

When I print images taken with my SONY cyber shot HX50V I get a small ghost like (gray) shadow in the upper right portion of the photo. It is in all photos, and seems to change in size when I increase or decrease the zoom function. I can see it on the screen of the camera as well, but it's not there in the subject I am shooting. How can I get rid of this annoying "shadow?" It's been appearing for about the past six months.

I have just imported some photos from my camera to my computer, and now my camera appears to have frozen? When I switch it on nothing happens, the lens doesn't open as it did before and all I can get on the display is the in-camera guide which is very basic and doesn't help at all. The menu won't come on and I can't look at any files. It is a new camera bought in January of this year and I have only used it a handful of times. I don't think the battery is dead but I am currently charging...
I have owned each of the HX series since version HX5V and the low light performance just kept getting better. (I also owned several Panasonics - the Sony HX of the same generation always did better in low light.) Owners of the HX5V may remember low light was the selling point of the HX series. The best one is my HX20V(18.2mp), absolutely superb low light performance, both in picture quality and autofocus relilability. Then I got the HX50V (20.4mp) and like many other users, I found it had...
