Hi all, I got an offer to buy an HX10v for a nice price, only the menus are Japanese (camera was bought in Japan). From what I gather, there's no option to change this in-camera, but would it be possible to install a different firmware version and get english-language menus? Thanks in advance for your answers! Bart

Hi, My dad is not much of a technical person coming to electronic devices. He wants to find the simplest way to transfer pics from his camera to PC by just plugging a cord (USB). I tried search online but it tells me to download the "playmemory home" which we want to avoid doing. We just want a simple transfer and store. Can someone please help? Thanks. Anna
Hello,I have been looking into the Sony HX10v. And have found it to have very mixed reviews from people.I have a £230 price range, and from looking this seems to be my best bet.I have an old Sony DSC H7 bridge camera, which I find a little too bulky these days, so I'm opting for a smallish compact camera instead. Is it a good upgrade from my existing?I like the hx10 for its zoom especially, which I'm looking for. It's more compact, and seems to offer a much better quality of picture?Am I...
Hello. My question is about the shooting ratio of the sony hx10v The default aspect ratio that the camera uses is 16:9. I can not find any option to change it to 4:6 or 3:4. The only way seems to be cropping after shooting.Does anyone of you can suggest any ways to achieve 4:6 or 3:4 shooting aspect ratio; I mean any sorts of upgrade or hidden menu setting or something else? Please spare a few minute to guide me. Thanks.
I want to start a project of taking videos of urban locations and events at night. I was thinking I would go with a compact with a larger aperture (Sony S100 or Lumix LX7), even though reviewers aren't enthusiastic about their video capability.Do I need those apertures of can I go with Sony (hx9v, hx10v, etc) or Panasonic (zs20, zs30). Can those f3.5 f-stops perform well in low light.Don
