Scott, Forgive me for asking, but I note that you sold your SD1M some time ago and broke your sd Quattro H. Are you Sigma cameraless now or did you get the sd Q H repaired.? I see here today that David Hughes is considering selling an almost unused H if you are interested. S.
A very fine lens on the sd Q H except occasionally it misses focus in landscape situations when focusing on something at Infinity even though the camera indicates that focus is good. So extra care has to be taken to ensure is as it should be. Can anyone comment & have you experienced a similar phenomenon? The 17-70mm f2.8-4 never misses in the same situations. S
The photo below is well out of focus even though the camera was set to Single Focus. I am of the view that in Single Focus the Shutter should not fire in that situation nor should the green focus dot show up. It was shot with the 24-105mm f4 lens at f5.0, 1/400 sec. Focus peaking was on at the time.. I have had that experience occasionally always at the 105mm focal lenght and always focusing on a distant position similar to this. I understand that there is no very definite contrast in the...
Hi, I am considering buying a Sigma FP but I am torn between this and a Sigma Quattro H. I have an SD15 and the 18-35 F1.8 Art and the 50-100 F1.8 Art. These I understand would be fine on the Quattro. However I go down the FP road and use the MC-21, will I get vignetting or experience cropping of the FP sensor given my lenses are APSC? I can't really justify the expense of buying new L Mount lenses at this time. My thanks in anticipation George
Hi all I was thinking about this lens for my camera. Does anyone have any practical experience on the H sensor coverage for this lens and has tried it on the H? (I have the 2.8 17-50 DC zoom and get a bit of vignetting in the corners when not in crop mode which is to be expected.. but from 35-50 the lens gives coverage across the whole sensor) thanks in advance.
Hi - a new sd Quattro H user and wanted to make sure I understand correctly the b&w options. If I've got it right, the in-camera b&w mode (others too) really only exist for the purposes of producing jpegs out of camera? I suppose one could say it is a visual aid as well in that the montior switches to b&w. But in reality, the camera will still shoot a color image and save as a sigma raw file that SPP can then export to tif or jpg. I guess also the image is 'tagged' as mono for SPP...

I had taken a photo of the moon with SFD (X3I file), by 300mm lenses, so the moon occupy only small center area with other part of the frame is black. With M mode and ISO 100, the exposure is correct so middle of the seven x3f in x3i file get clear face of the moon. After open the x3i in SPP (X3I editor), I selected all of the 7 frames and select "Review" to open them in X3F editor. The auto processing make the face of the moon much light than over-exposure. I suggest it's caused by the SPP,...
