I had taken a photo of the moon with SFD (X3I file), by 300mm lenses, so the moon occupy only small center area with other part of the frame is black. With M mode and ISO 100, the exposure is correct so middle of the seven x3f in x3i file get clear face of the moon. After open the x3i in SPP (X3I editor), I selected all of the 7 frames and select "Review" to open them in X3F editor. The auto processing make the face of the moon much light than over-exposure. I suggest it's caused by the SPP,...

Hello fellow Sigma shooters, I've ordered a sd Quattro and haven't received it yet and in researching it have found some people are adapting m42 lenses via adapters. Further research led to some posts where people mentioned a 'removal tool' is needed to remove the adapter from the sd Quattro body, the adapter I ordered doesn't come with one but looks slightly different to the adapters often mentioned. Might anyone know if the adapter I'm showing here can be used without this tool and without...

I purchased a Sigma SA-7 film body along with three Sigma lenses around 2004 - 2005. The SA-7 died but I've still got the lenses sitting on the shelf (28–70mm f/2.8 EX DG, 15–30mm f/3.5–4.5 EX DG Aspherical and a 100–300mm f/4 EX DG HSM). My question is: can I still use these older SA mount lenses on the later Sigma bodies? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the older Sigma lenses came out with both inner and outer bayonets (on the mount) and these may only fit certain Sigma digital SLR...

Hi, I thought a lot about my photography lately. I do not get to shoot as much as I am used too in this times so I sold some of my stuff or gave it to people I love. Looking through my cameras and lenses to sort out which ones have to go made me think about what was really important to me. I am mainly a person and industry shooter. I used to take pictures of animals (mainly zoo and my own dog) but since his death two months ago I am not interested in animals anymore. The funny thing is, I...

I have some older Sigma Fovean cameras that I want to start using again, like a DP-1 and DP2. I know of two ways to develop their raw files: SPP and Iridient Developer. Which do you recommend I use?  I would appreciate comments by those who have tried both. I may also acquire a more modern camera version, such as the Sigma SD Quattro and would like your opinions on processing its raw files.

Hi there, I’m new to this forum, and to all forums actually, looking for some advice. I’ve just bought a sigma SD quattro H second hand, and I’m wondering which M42 lenses have the kind of sharpness to make the most of the cameras resolution, that might be a viable alternative to the sigma art lenses. I’ve had a look at some of the threads but so many lenses are suggested it’s hard to know which are best. Looking for a 50mm and an 85mm at first but interested in any suggestions for the...

Hello everyone, Hope you are well and staying safe. I only have the 30mm F1.4 kit lens that came with the sd quattro and I don't find it to be a great lens, considering how good the other Art primes are. I don't use the camera as much and was wondering if I should start with a better lens. What are the lenses that are a step up from the 30mm F1.4? I won't be buying the expensive primes like the 85 or 135mm. How good is the 18-35mm or the 17-70mm compared to the 30mm F1.4? Is it worth...

HI, I'm looking for a fast ultra wide prime that is a bit compact for my SD quattro H (can be in apsC setup) , prefer no zoom. I don't need AF, need wider then 14mm but no fisheye Maybe the new laowa 12mm f2. 8 zero distortion can be fitted somehow , would the Canon or Pentax K version be a good start. Any ideers? Open for any solution. It for a panoramic setup. I now use a DP0 Quattro in 21:9, but want wider, closer to my favorit Hasselblad Xpan with 30mm. I tried many wide converters on de...
