Hopefully this specific new question and is not one that has been talked about over and over. When I view the tripod collars on Amazon for the 100-400 DG OS HMS lens ( not the DG DN newer one) in the description it often reads "for Nikon and Canon mount). I'm not sure what the different mounts would have to do with it as long as its the correct lens but I need one for this lens whens used on the Sigma SD Quattro camera. I'm looking at the Ishoot brand since it seems to be the most...

My photos had small black dots so I decided to clean the sensor with a "Swab" accessory without chemistry. I tried only once but I saw that spots began to appear. The result is worse than before. Initial research says under no circumstances should one attempt a manual clean with microfiber swabs and solution I am afraid that I have damaged the sensor.Attached images of the photos before and after cleaning Any recommendation? similar topic:https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/65176500 I try to...

I'm 50+ year old photographer who grew up using all formats of film cameras and now am semi-professional (i.e I earn some of my living from photography). I have m43 for video and for stills mainly use a GFX 50S. I never really gelled with the GFX - or it's lenses, though the files are very good. My solution to feeling distant from the photographic experience, was to adapt older manual focus lenses to it, this does in fact take me a long way towards liking the camera. Actually all EVF's...

Hey all, I've been really enjoying macro photography with my new SD Quattro. The thing is built like an absolute tank. The major issue I seem to keep running into however is the infamous green and magenta colour noise/blotches. It absolutely steamrolls over any detail when zoomed in and really makes me worry that the quattro isn't going to work for macro, that being the only reason I bought it. Here's a quick test shot I took of the embossing and gilding on an old book I have. You can see the...

Hey all, After a whole lot of thinking it over, probably a little too much thinking, I bit the bullet and picked up a used SD Quattro body. The one thing that's got me a bit stuck so far is finding affordable batteries for it. Although I've read that Panasonic BLF-19 and 19e batteries work well, third party stock is currently limited or overpriced here in Canada. I've seen whispers around different forums about Pentax batteries potentially being compatible with the SD Quattro, specifically...

I have a Sigma sdq and recently when I was organizing my photos in my mac album, I found that all my photos taken by the sdq had no lens information. I usually edit my photos in SPP, so when I tried to find the problem, I converted the X3F files to Tiff and jpg format to view them in Lightroom and I found that the Exif was no lens information at all. And of course i can't use lens correction. The solution I can find now is to use DNG format to take photos so that the exported files are...

Hello, Has anyone out there attempted to stack a m42-sa adapter with a Nikon F to m42 adapter? The goal is to mount a Nikon F lens to SD Quattro. I am trying to see if this will work out well, but not sure if anyone out there has tried it before. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, I'm the proud new owner of an SD Quattro with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 Art lens. And THRILLED to dig into the exciting and different world of Foveon. (Before any holy wars start, I'm also in the market for a DP2M ;) However… I'm finding that my images have a lot of color noise, to the point that solid colors (esp browns and tans) seem to be "vibrating" to my eyes, almost like those old blue and red "3D" images. It hurts my brain to look at, which hurts my heart because I've been so excited to...

I’m back and forth on what I should get. I know the technical specs of foveon vs bayer. I need some personal experience and guidance on what people have experienced using these cameras.
