Hello, I have currently a big deal.  I own the Sigma 19mm f2.8 which is a prime I really like for both street and external-flash-in-apartment-party photographie. My point is I need a wider lens for travelling and shoot landscapes. For this, I was thinking about buying the Samyang 12mm f2 which seem very good and very sharp.  BUT, another lens came to my choice : why not buy the Sigma 19mm and buy instead the Sony 10-18mm f4 that could replace both Sigma19 and Samyang12, allowing me to shot as...

Hi folks Has anyone tried both the Sigma 19mm and the Samyang 12mm? I'm looking at my first lens for landscape photography for the Sony a6000 (I'm no pro), which would be my best option? To me the Samyang looks the better option and gets great reviews, but is it worthy of being 2x more than the Sigma? The Samyang is maxing out my budget so please no recommendations for £350+ lenses Thanks!

Hello, I’m looking for a cheap prime lens and I’m interested in the Sigma 19mm f2.8. In the article description I’ve come across the term ‘Sony E-mount’. Does this mean the lens is only for Sony camera’s with an e-mount? Or are there different versions of the lens with different mounts? I would like to ask if the lens with a Sony E-mount will fit on my MFT camera (Olympus omd em10). Thank you so much in advance. Nick

Hi, I own a sony 5R with sony 16mm lens. I am going to Alaska this Summer and would like to take some beautiful pics of the animals and glacier. I am actually new with all mirrorless cameras and the lenses. So my questions: 1. Is it worth it to get get A6000 instead of using my 5R for my purpose? 2. Should I get a ECU1 wide angle adapter for 16mm or get sigma 19mm? or other lens for the trip? 3. I have a mount adapter for sony 75-300 a mount lens and it's pretty heavy with the adapter on....

Hi guys, I'm new to the wondrous dpreview forums, but I wanted to ask you pro's some questions, if that's ok... Background: Right, so I'm currently studying in my final year in England. I am going to Poland for a WW2 History trip from April 2nd - 5th and in July I'm going on a 1 month trip to Nepal, where I'll be trekking for 12 days and doing a variety of activities. I chose the NEX-7 for a camera, as it was a good raw spec advanced enthusiast cdc camera, I didn't want a DSLR, as in both...

I am thinking about taking a sabbatical from all my lenses except one and shoot it backwards and forwards until I master that focal length. I'm guessing there's a majority out there who will think that's the dumbest idea ever, but to the rest that don't think so, I've decided that of my lens collection the two candidates are the Sigma 19 and the SEL 35.  Some will say it's a personal choice and I don't disagree, but I do want to hear your opinion of what you would do. For me, I can say that I...

Hello, This forum was a huge help in deciding on NEX-6 vs traditional DSLR and thus far I have no regrets. The reason we wanted a new camera was to capture our upcoming honey/babymoon trip on an Alaska cruise and upcoming birth of our first child.  We went with SONY NEX-6 with 18-55 lens. Upon reading some reviews and not having much time to research I also got the SIGMA lens kit from BHPhoto for 199 which included 30 and 19 mm 2.8 EX DN lenses.  I played with them tonight and didnt really...

Hello allI recently upgraded my EPM1 to an OMD a absolutely love it. The only issue is the banding with the 20mm lens which is a real shame as it's otherwise a great lens. Have any of you switched to the Sigma 19mm for this reason, and if so do you have any regrets? Thanks in advance.Andrew--I'm getting there...
