Reviewing a discontinued lens may seem a bit strange, but there are always used copies.. So I came across an 'excellent like new' copy of this lens for 100€ incl. shipping and I thought of trying it out on my Sony a6000. Virtually identical to the 60mm and 30mm versions this one isn't quite as sharp as the others, but nevertheless is a more than useful addition to the range. Focuses fast and close which is handy, it just doesn't quite have the edge acuity of the 30 or 60mm versions. But this has to be balanced by what it costs and to get an autofocus F2.8 lens with a hood for $200 represents outstanding value for money.

Inexpensive, sharp, robust. 1 star down for slippery focus ring. Direct JPEG output from the camera.
