Over the last couple of year's I've managed to learn to take decent action shots (mainly rugby) with a Nikon D5300. Moving from the kit lens to a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 (the newer version with stabilisation, etc.) helped too. I'm now considering upgrading to a Nikon D500 camera, while continuing to use the same Sigma lens. The main reason is that while I get some shots with the D5300 that I am really happy with, the number of lost shots due to lack of perfect focus (sometimes outright blurred)...

Some advice please folks on my birding setup:-) Currently have the 70-300L and the Sigma 150-600mm. The siggy lives exclusively on my 80d for birding/wildlife. I'm finding that the 70-300L on my 6dII is a good sidekick for close range/large birds. I love everything about the 70-300L - I've had it for many years, the colour and sharpness throughout the range have never disappointed me. Being relatively compact to lug around and travel with gets a big thumbs up too. The only thing is I'm...
Hi All, I decided to take the tripod collar of my new Sigma lens and put back to see how its done. I was sure when turning the lens from horizontal to vertical and back there was a hard stop on both ends. Just wondering whether I was just imagining things? It just turns now even thought I've lined up everything. Thanks!
I recently bought the Canon 80D and when I fired used the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM lens for action shots and a lot of the images were out of focus. It seemed like the lens had trouble focusing and keeping the subject in focus. I switched back to using my Canon 60D and the lens worked fine. I tried multiple settings on the 80D but it still had problems focusing. Has anyone else had this problem with other Sigma Lens?
Hi all. Please help me decide which lens to buy. I am hesitating between the SONY 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 G SSM II and the Sigma AF 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX DG OS HSM. I am working in a wet white water environment making pictures on rafting trips. I think it would be awesome to seea bit further with the 70-300 but on the other hand having f/2.8 can be nice too. I think the Sigma performs better in low light and maybe the focusing is better too. What do you think? I really appreciate a little help...
Hi everyone! I'm an amateur photographer and currently have a Nikon D750. I'm using the Tamron 24-70 as my standard go-to lens at the moment but I wanted to purchase a 70-200 to give me more range while out and about doing street photography. I can't decide between the 2 lenses as the reviews I've found online are from a while ago and they basically compare the older version of the Tamron without the VC feature. So not like-for-like. - Tamron 70-200 f2.8 with VC, or - Sigma 70-200 f2.8 with...

I have been using this lens for about a year with my Nikon D7000. Today I turned on my camera and the lens was not working properly. It works fine in manual mode. But in autofocus mode, the lens won't attempt to focus and will not take a picture. But if I focus manually at a fixed object then switch to autofocus, the autofocus won't move but it will take a picture.

I'm a video creator and just switched from the GH4 to the C100 for my fast turnaround workflow. Previously I used the Panasonic 35-100 f/2.8, and need to find a C100 telephoto alternative. I've been doing a lot of browsing on the differences between the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 OS and the Canon 70-200 f/4 IS. From what I gather, the IQ on the Sigma is better than on the Canon, but I haven't found much on the differences in the optical/image stabilization. For my shooting style, which is usually...
