The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN Art is a fast standard prime for Sony E-mount and Panasonic/Sigma/Leica L-mount mirrorless bodies. The lens features 15 elements, including SLD (special low dispersion), ELD (extraordinary low dispersion), 'F' low dispersion (FLD) and aspherical glass. Its 11-blade aperture makes it ideal for portraiture. The focus group is driven by a stepping motor. The minimum focus distance of the 35mm F1.4 is 30cm (11.8"), with a maximum magnification of 0.19x.
The lens has a high quality build and is sealed against dust and moisture. Its aperture ring can be clicked/de-clicked and locked in place. A focus lock button and AF/MF switch are also present.

The Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN Art is a worthy update to a modern classic. It's combination of strong optical performance, excellent build quality and reasonable price make it a great all-around option for prime shooters looking at this focal range. Pricier options in both L-and E-mount ecosystems will best the Sigma in some ways, but the Sigma is nevertheless easy to recommend.
Good for: Documentary, wedding and event photography, environmental portraiture, travel.
Not so good for: Video shooters that need more controlled focus breathing, landscape shooters that need better control over ghosting artifacts.
