Been shooting with this lens since 2015. Picked it up second hand as a replacement to an aging 18-55 3.5-5.6 DA Kit lens, Version 1 that came with my K100D. It's rarely let me down and when it fails it's the problem of the photographer. It's soft at 2.8 but is sharp at 4.0. It's not unusuable at 2.8 but you've got to work that little bit harder. Listen, It cost me £300.00 and unless I come into money it's one of three lenses that I'd happily call "lifetime". I'm happy to give it 4.5/5 with ...

I use this lens for event shooting about 80% inside and 20% outside.  This lens has never failed me the focus is great and spot on every time.  The reason for 4.5 stars and not 5 is its not as sharp at the long end as the wide end.  I have used it on both a 7D and 70D.  I like the colors and it has very little CA or distortion. dave
