The gear i have now: Canon eos 350d (rebel xt) Sigma 18-200 DC 3,5/6.3 Canon ef 100mm macro USM (non L version) I also have a light stand and a multi-purpose umbrella with a Speedlite 580ex first gen. I shoot a wide variety of things, from macro to portraits to events to high speed, but I'm still a starting photographer. I'd love to have a new camera, but maybe a new lens would benefit me more. I am willing to spend up to about 1500€ (something like 2000 dollars or 1300 pounds) A good...

Hello all, a little premise to explain my question: my old Sigma 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 (no stabilizer, from back in 2005) worked fine with my 350D, but the AF chokes on my 60D when at full tele. To make a long story short, it exhibits very strong front-focusing, sometimes as bad as tens of meters. I have narrowed it down to it being somewhat inompatible with the phase-detection AF, since it works fine in live view (ie. contrast-detection AF, the same that the 350D had through the viewfinder too)...
