Samyang 8mm F3.5 Aspherical IF MC Fisheye / Rokinon 8mm F3.5 Fisheye User Reviews

Wideangle fisheye prime lens | Canon EF-S, Four Thirds, Nikon F (DX), Pentax KAF, Samsung NX, Sony/Minolta Alpha

The Rokinon 8mm f3.5 Fisheye Lens is the perfect cheap lens to get your creative juices flowing. This ultra wide APS-C size lens gives you a massive field of view and is capable of capturing eye catching images with a little practice. It's remarkably affordable, is sturdily constructed, and produces excellent image quality, and is a fun lens, so long as you're aware of the enormous levels of intentional distortion.

Amazing find. I had originally purchased one for my daughter who is taking photography in college. Naturally I could not resist 'testing' it. I was so amazed with its performance I kept it and sent out for a second one for her. NO color fringing, weak blurry corners or vignetting. Sharp, sharp and more sharp. Too heavy? Really? After years of paying too much for cheap, plastic barreled lenses, I call it solidly made.

Very good lens, sharp enough at every aperture, it gives its best at f5.6 to 8. Problems: the built-in flash is unusable due to the lens hood, it creates shadows in the lower part of the image

Stunning performance. One of the best kept secrets in the world of photo gear.

Incredible performance and build quality, given the price. Even more remarkable is the fact that this lens offers near-perfect stereographic projection (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisheye_lens#Fisheye_lens) , which usually makes a fisheye lens more expensive. This lens performs better than other fisheye lenses twice as expensive. This is the built-in hood version and includes the "focus confirm chip". I’m very happy with this lens. It has great image quality and I really appreciate the low-light capability. The wide angle of view makes it suitable for capturing landscapes, interiors and any “wide” subject. The fisheye effect is manageable in two ways. Subjects in the centre and along the horizontal axis of the image have little noticeable distortion. Some landscapes and group shots work fine without any ...

This is an excellent lens. Don't let the all manual operation scare you off, set your camera to A (aperture) mode, and you will be fine. The projection of this lens is stereographic, whereas most fisheye lenses are equisolid. Pictures with this lens have a slightly more even balance in area between the center and edges when compared to other fisheye lenses with similar specs. The Wikipedia article on fisheye lenses has much more detail :) Problems: All manual, no EXIF data.

Sharp, cheap, diagonal angle 180,specific fisheye distortion, manual lens good with sony SLT cameras with peaking focus, select in menu release without lens.I give it 4 stars for only reason it is manual. Only for APS C sensor, for full frame only in crop mode.

Well, that's what we'll soon say about these excellent lenses. Crisp, sharp, very well built, the focus feels as nice as on any old high-quality lens. Some say it is heavy, and it is, compared to some modern glass with plastic barrels. The image quality is very good, the distortion quite regular, so that it can be corrected without problems. I have made some panoramic photos in a single shot, just applying correction tools. Samyang should continue to make MF, no-nonsense lenses, no zooms, no ...
