Hi, I believe such question has been asked several times, but I could not find a match with my choices, so here it is. BACKGROUND: I'm an amateur photographer. Most focal lengths I shoot at are 17mm, 50mm and 100mm (mainly cities and macros). I edit pictures with Lightroom. I have no experience with panoramas nor photo stacking or Photoshop layers, etc, although I can learn if it wont take days to edit 1 picture I have a Canon 60D APS-C and I am NOT planning to change to a full frame in the...

Hello, I received my Samyang lens for the Sony a6000 and took some test photos to check the quality of these lenses. Without moving the camera I took a series of the same photo in A mode and changing only the aperture – I took a photo for each of these apertures: 22, 16, 11, 8, 5.6, 4, 2.8. To avoid camera movements I took the photos using a tripod and the remote control. The focus was set with the aid of the peaking and, apparently, most of the plane was in focus. Here is the shot at f/22, I...

Problem with lens or lens electronics, or a camera parameter I'm not aware of? Nikon D5300 with chipped Rokinon 10mm lens. I like this lens a lot. Using it for a number of things, one is photogrammetric survey. Been doing a geometric calibration at a particular aperture, and shooting with that aperture. First noticed weirdness in aperture priority mode. Can get things dialed in and a run of beautiful shots. Have needed to dial exposure control down as far as 3-steps. Will occasionally get...

I have been doing astro-timelapse for some time using D90 and Samyang 10mm f2.8, with an external interval timer. I enjoy aiming for good 'holygrail' sunset/starfield videos and tend to use lrtTimelapse/qDslrDashboard and such tools for this. I recently purchased a D7200 which at first glance appears to offer a 'quick and dirty' holygrail image capture mode using the inbuilt interval timer/exposure smoothing, in conjunction with aperture priority and auto ISO. I have tested this with the...

I'm quite new to photography and i'm looking for a lens for astrophotography which isnt too expensive. I asked photorec toby on youtube which lens he recommended and he recommended the Rokinon/Samyang 14mm f/2.8 (~90 degree field of view). Although its for a full framed camera meaning that it'll effectively be a 22mm f/5 on a crop-framed camera? Would it not be better to go for a lens which is designed for the APS-C sensor to get better quality? Such as the Rokinon/Samyang 10mm f/2.8 (~106...

Apart from my K-3 I own and use a couple of Pentax MX, Pentax IST* (Film Version) and Pentax MZ5-N I primarily use on my K-3 the 18 - 135 mm Zoom lens but also use the 35mm f/2 and the 50mm f/1.4 plus my MF lenses. My widest lens at the moment is the 18mm of my zoom lens. I also have the Voigtländer 20mm f/3.5. I have come across an application where I need a little more coverage. After reading and watching rather disapointing reviews of the Sigma 10 - 20mm zoom and the Tokina 11-20mm zoom,...

I have the KonicaMinolta 11-18/4.5-5.6 and use it, primarily, for landscapes. I think it has too much CA, and problems with being sharp at the corners - but is there a better alternative? I see Sigma 10-20 and Samyang 10/2.8 as the best alternatives, but are they any better when it comes to image quality? It is to be used with A77 and I have no plans on going to FF. I have both Samyang 8mm and ZA 16-80 in my line up, so it's the gap between those two I would like to keep closed. Any...
