Samsung GX-1L

Announced Feb 24, 2006 •
6 megapixels | 2.5 screen | APS-C sensor

Wonderful camera for a travelling photographer. Very few unnecessary bits and pieces, and excellent responses to all settings. An excellent, simple, straight forward camera. Problems: With all earlier digital SLR cameras, dust on the sensor can be a problem. Also - more a petty annoyance - I have a tendency to accidentally turn the camera off when I am playing with an image on the LCD screen

Lightweight, user friendly camera. Intuitive menu system. Functions beautifully in it's own "auto scene mode" with plenty of room for growth. Colors are true, images sharp, saturation beautiful. Fantastic value and peformance. Decided not to keep it when local store ran a sale of Pentax K100D within a week of purchase. (Samsung=Pentax). I benefit from SR, available in this body model. Problems: Kind of stupid dance to access the "scene" modes not on the dial, but I rarely use those anyway.
