Samsung Galaxy S6 Active
The Galaxy S6 is exclusively available through AT&T in the US and has a very similar specification to the standard S6. Android 5.02 Lollipop is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor and images can be viewed and composed on a 5.1-inch Quad-HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel-density of 577 ppi.
In the camera department the S6 Active comes with the same 16MP resolution on the back and 5MP at the front as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, but there is no talk of an optical image stabilization system. Images and video can be saved on 32GB of built-in storage but unfortunately there is no card slot. At 3,500 mAh the S6 Active battery actually has a higher capacity than the standard models which should allow for outdoor trips without the need to carry an external battery.
Of course the main reason to choose the S6 Active over its S6 or S6 Edge cousins is its ruggedness, making it suitable for all sorts of sports and outdoor activities. The phone is shockproof and IP68 certified, meaning it is dust and water resistant up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. It's also MIL-STD-810G certified which means it can withstand salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock.
