I just bought a NX1000 and added a 50-200 OIS Samsung lens. However, when I use it the auto focus does not work, I have the lens switch on auto focus but it doesn't. If I try manual focus, the image keeps switching between 50 mm & the long shot. Camera is in Smart Mode Is there some setting I have to use to get the long lens working? Thanks

Today I bought, of all things, the Samsung 50-200mm OIS, not the II or III, but the first one. I mostly use adapted lenses, but I wanted something with AF for tele, so this was for some reason in the local camera store. I tested it, and it does the job just fine for what I want. It has firmware 1.10, and I see on Samsung's website that there is a firmware 1.20 available. I downloaded it, copied the lens.bin file to the root of the SD card, went into Device Information, it says that my camera...
Hi all,Is there a big difference between OIS 1-2-3 versions for this lens? I can find an OIS I for a considerably low price. Should I grab it or should I skip it?If I skip, I will not buy an OIS 3 because I don't want to pay that much right now. The price is double. I just wonder if there is a huge difference among versions. Thanks in advance!
So after reading this post , I got to thinking about the JPEG file embedded in SRW files. Sometimes I just don't need/want to go through the effort of a full PP workflow for some shots so I'm fine with just using a JPEG the way the camera formatted it. I set my NX500 to RAW+Super Fine for some shots at a racetrack today, and when I got home I tried running some comparisons between the JPEG that the camera made (hereafter referred to as the "normal" JPEG) vs. the JPEG I extracted from the SRW...
I was wondering what others thought here. If you were travelling through say 5-10 countries, could only take 1 body 3 lenses and your filters. And you couldn't take the 50-150 or 16-50 2-2.8, which 3 current NX lenses would you take? Samsung only, no Samyang. 1 prime, 16-50 & 50-200? Would you bother with the big telephoto or the PZ? Interested to see how others rate the current lenses if you really had to choose. :)

Hey, I just purchased an NX20 to complement my NX1000 I have these lenses: 20-50, 30, 60, 85, 50-200 III Which is most suitable/best quality for recording a meeting? (tripod) Is there a way to bypass the 25min limit or is that a filesystem limitation? I'm also looking for a EM10 mic in Canada but it seems to have been discontinued? Is there a way to tether video to my computer? Or any way to possibly use the NX20 for a delayed webcast?
Hi there, I recently bought the NX300 (which I love btw) as I've just began a 5 month round the world trip. It came with the 20-50 lens which works fine and does the job very well. However I'll be on Safari soon, so I got the 50-200 lens also. This has worked wonderfully the past couple of weeks, however yesterday, for no reason as far as I can tell, the autofocus ability has completely disabled itself when using the zoom lens. The AF-MF switch on the lens is set to AF (tried switching...
Is anyone else getting noises from their lens when it's doing stabilization? I get a stream of rapid, soft clicks and pops when I turn on OIS (and only when I turn on OIS). It's loud enough to be recorded in video mode, and sounds worrisome as I use it! The lens is brand new, and my kit lens does not have this problem.
