Hi! I've been using Ricoh GR II for a couple of months now, the image quality are great but there is one frustrating problem i had just recently. Does anybody feels like the exposure reading/metering on Ricoh GR a bit odd? I was taking pictures with another camera (Sony A6000) and comparing it with Ricoh GR with the same lighting condition, the Ricoh GR tends to read the scene less sensitive. With the sony i was able to take the pictures in 1/1000 s, but with the Ricoh to achieve the same...

Hi! I found these presets which will maybe partially solve my issue in having pictures similar to the Ricoh amazing Positive Film emulation (similar to kodachrome 64) when I am not using my GR II (I mostly shot with my lovely E-M5 II): https://www.gavingough.com/store/kodachrome Did someone already try them? Any feedback? Thanks in advance! Fabio

Hi All, I have a Ricoh GR II that is barely used... maybe 150 snaps. Love it but one day the shutter release stoped working and now it will not snap a shot when I press the shutter release? All other functions seem to be working fine. All menu options back screen etc. The camera is in great shape never dropped, well taken care of. I contacted Ricoh service and the cam is outside of the one year warranty. There is a minimum of like $175 to have it looked at. I have looked through all the...

Lots of people and reviewers have said that this camera does not focus well (i.e. slow focus acquisition, hunting, in correct focus, etc) in low light.  I would appreciate if people with this experience explain what they mean by low light.  You can either express it in EV numbers or as an exposure setting e.g. f2.8 at 1/30sec at 400 iso.  Intended use is mainly in art galleries, and static scenes, i.e. I'm not chasing kids or pets around, in a low light family room :) I'm aware of focus...

Back in the last century I used the GR 1 quite a bit and liked the handling, size and image quality. I'm considering a GR ii for travel to Cuba and Europe this summer. I've done a lot of research on the user sites and the only thing that bothers me a bit is the color palette from the GR ii. Most of the images I see online seem overly contrasty with deeply saturated colors and dense, moody blacks. Is this just a case of setting the output to individual taste by street shooters? I like the...

When I was cleaning the lens on the gr ii, I was using a cleaning cloth and wiping the lens. I tried not to be rough but when I was slightly pushing the lens trying to clean it, I felt a click and felt I pushed the lens mechanism inward slightly. When I tried to power the camera on and off, everything was fine and there was no problem with the auto focus either. Anyone come across this situation before? Did I damage anything in the camera? Thanks for reading.

Hey guys,Maybe you can help me.I'd like a camera that can do following (in that priority)1. Flip-screen to shoot from the hip2. Fast auto-focus 3. Built in flash for portraits on the streets at night4. Fast shutterExtra: Would do cool with Image Stabilization too and weather resistant. But it's not a deal-breaker.I've looked at Fuji x100F and  X-T20. Do you have any recommendations for me to find a street photography camera. My budget is around 1600 USD. I currently own a Ricoh GR II.

So I'm getting a camera for my wife who has a nice eye for composition but who despised my last camera, a Ricoh GR II, for all the reasons I loved it like manual controls. This time I've more carefully identified my requirements. I know what she will appreciate but I would like to also use the camera and ideally it might meet both our needs. So I'm looking for a compromise but ultimately it's for her. Her use case is primarily in the travel photography vein but also kids/social use too. Her...

I finally bought a GR II after lots of reading, but I'm struggling to like it for one reason that might seem nit-picky. If I want to bump the exposure compensation, or change white balance... I have to push OK every time? Really? Is there a way to disable this? I don't think I'm that stuck in my ways but seriously, every other camera I've gotten comfortable with, it's second nature to just hit a button 2 or 5 times to bump EV, or pick white balance then snap the picture, or even half depress...
