I recently got this re-branded 12-24mm f/4 lens and I have an issue with it. This lens is intended for Samsung cameras but I understood that it is fully compatible with Pentax bodies. I am using it on a K-x body. So, the front element of the lens can move inward/outward a millimeter or so, and that messes up the focus. If the lens is pulled towards the body, then infinity becomes less than 2m and when the lens is pulled away from the body, it function correctly. The autofocus is not reliable...
Hello All I used D5000 with 55-200mm VR for sharp portrait and also i have used other cameras such as Pentax k-x and K50 with 55-300mm that gave sharp images but before 2 years , i found Sony a65 with SAM 55-200mm gave better IQ. Now im interesting in different Nikon cameras with 85mm 1.8G for sharp portraits. I found in some reviews that Nikon D5300 gave excellent IQ and better than D7100. i also wrote that D7200 and D7100 have better focusing system than D5300. I like D5300 for the...
Hello All I would like to upgrade my K-x and my k50 to either k70 or K-1. i have lenses such as 15-55mm , 55-300 and many different M42 lenses such Takumar , Carl-Zeiss , Pentacon and some other once. I need some opinions about upgrading to k70 or k-1. in fact im interesting in portrait of my family, with best regards.
Planning a multi-week visit to SW France, and photography will be a big part of the trip for me. We will be doing some trains and some point-to-point walking with everything on our backs. No car, no suitcase, only smallish backpacks. I have a 3-prime kit, built around my Pentax Kx which is small and light relative to some other APS-C bodies and primes - BUT - I'm beginning to think it's too much to carry. I'm trying to decide how much image quality I'm willing to sacrifice for convenience and...
I would like to know if others see a mirrored reflection at the bottom of their viewfinder? I just received the camera today and the pictures turn out fine, but I find the reflection rather distracting. If I hold the camera higher to my eye I can hide the bottom of the viewfinder, but it's not natural for me. I have never noticed this on my older Pentax k-x. It was an Open Box item, but it looks like it's never been used. Does this need to be returned or is this normal?
Hi All, In K-x body I could switch between fixed ISO and ISO AUTO via menu available on “Info” button. QUESTION: how does it work with K3? Manual says “Press (image of green button) to set the sensitivity to [ISO Auto]” (page 39), but nothing happens - I presume I should see ISO AUTO in view finder, but I don’t. Just in case “ISO AUTO” range (visible through menu on “Info” button) at this moment is set to 100-1600. Any comments, please? Ta! Mcdim
I searched and did not see any reference to my question. I have a Kx when in auto mode the flash will automatically pop up when needed. Now on my K-S1 in the same mode does not. I have checked the flash settings and they are in auto. Do I have something that is defective here are am I missing something? Thanks MDLA.
I have a question about something I have noticed over several years and several Pentax cameras: Sometimes, when I take consecutive pictures, it appears that the white balance or something else color-related changes between each picture. Here are two examples: The two pictures are taken less than a second apart. Both pictures are manually set exactly the same: F/2.8, 1/400, ISO 3200, manual white balance. No auto anything. Even the focus is manual. As you can see, the first picture appears...
Does anyone have a white K-50 or K-30? I just bought a K-3 and was planning to keep my K-x as a second body. But since I needed a couple of WR lenses for rainy-day shooting, I think I've decided to sell the K-x and just get the WR lenses in a kit with the K-50. Comes out to be about the same net cost, and I get a new camera for the backup. Anyway, I really like the looks of the white K-50, and that kit is only $20 more than the black. But I have two questions first: Does the white part of...
