Hi, all. I have a Pentax K30, which I keep in the car. (just in case). Also I have a K3, (which I love Have many lenses from film days. Eternally greatful that Pentax kept same mount). When I had 2 major operations on my right wrist, so not so strong, I bought a Olympus OMD M1, mark one. because of the weight, (lighter). Because I am a bit of a camera fenatic I also have a Sony RX100 II. Also love., but no vewfinder. So I bought a TS110. Now I realise I am getting greedy. (believe or...
Hi all, I am looking for a new Pentax DSLR, my K-30 was stolen a few months ago (along with my 18-135) and I have gone without a camera long enough! Prior to the K-30 I had an *ist DS, and an K-200. While I loved the K-30's auto focus and high ISO performance, my favorite by far was the K-200. I am trying to decide between a K-70, a K-3, or a K-3ii. I think the K-3 and K3ii will give me the heft and 'feel' that I liked with the k-200 along with the top LCD, while the K-70 will have...
I have problems with the date and time in my K-30. Less than three weeks ago I discovered that the date and time stamp were off by half a day or something. I reset the time, but now that I check it again the time in the camera is 28 hours behind. The battery has been nearly fully charged the whole time. Why is it behaving like this? Is it something I can do to fix it? It is extremely annoying that the time stamp is off on all my pictures.
Hi there, I bought the 28-75 a while ago for use on my K30, primarily for in-house portrait work. I never really loved it, mainly because I was comparing it to the results I was getting from my DA40 and DA70 primes. The crispness wasn't there, and the colours seemed comparatively flat and lifeless, so I had to do extra PP to not have my subjects look like wax dummies (IMHO). On the other hand, my clients were really happy with the results. Maybe I was being too hard on the 28-75? Fast forward...
Hi I have had a Pentax K30 for the last 6 years. I love it and had have been on numerous courses so am pretty familiar with the manual settings. Just recently I was trying to take pictures on a manual setting indoors with a light on. Everything was coming out dark. I then tried it on automatic but still the same even with the flash on. I have turned the EV Compensation button up to +5 and am now getting light in the images on Automatic but not on Manual. In daylight it needs a shutter speed...

Hello, everyone!I first started my DSLR journey with a K-30 in 2013 and it has been my loyal travel companion since then. Unfortunately, there has been some issue with its aperture in all modes except Manual. I discovered this in April, a month before my last summer trip, and the shutter count at that time was less than 4000. As I shot landscape in Manual most of the time on my holiday, it wasn't a problem until I gave wildlife a try. Every shot I took in Av and Tv modes was pitch black and...
I would like to switch from Pentax camera systems to Nikon. My major problem with Pentax is its focusing system, I own the K-30, K-50, K-01, K-5II and K-3, all give me a 50% hit or miss on the focus in bright or low light situations and drives me nuts. I don't want to invest a ton off money on my first Nikon so was looking at possibly a good used D610. I am a hobbyist and mostly take pictures at the Zoo's, air museum's and my favorite granddaughter, Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I recommended a K30 to a friend and we have gone to energizer lithiums but she is still getting a 3 shot blackout after turning the camera on then it is fine for all shots until it is turned off and then back on again when the same 3 initial shots black out. Is there a capacitor that controls the aperture motor? If it is the aperture motor wouldn't these troubled frames be overexposed because the motor is not stopping down? Any ideas? --Regards Dean - Capturing CreationN.B. All my Images are...
