My K-3 seems to have some dirt specks inside of it that are very prominent through the viewfinder, but in the RAW files I can barely see indications of dirt. I have used a hand blower to blow out the interior of the camera, including both the sensor and what I think is the OVF sensor which is above the main sensor, but the dirt is still there. I have looked all through the interior of the camera with a bright light and I don't see any dirt. Where could the dirt be and how can I get rid of it...
I'm testing a used 150-450mm lens. These sample images were taken with my K-3 with my 1.4 TC attached, and I tried a test without the TC and got similar results. The lens seems to have good quality at the short end and poor quality at the long end when focused at objects a long distance away. The images are crops of larger versions and are downscaled. Is this a bad lens, or is my technique wrong, or is the lens only designed to focus on objects that are a shorter distance from the camera? I...
I have ordered a Pentax 150-450mm lens. I hear that the ergonomics are terrible but the IQ is very good for a long zoom. I like that it's weather-resistant. I'm primarily planning to use it for bird photos, but I imagine that I'll find occasions to use it for wildlife, sports, or other action photos. I will be using this lens with my K-3, which means that the effective range will be about 675mm. I've ordered a monopod and a CPL for it. Any suggestions about technique or other accessories...

Dear fellow Pentaxians, the autofocus of my trustworthy K-5 recently stopped working (after close to 100k shutter actuations), so I can now use it only for manual lenses and need to find a successor. I am considering the K-70 as a replacement and was wondering if other forum users have taken that route and are so kind to share their experience. I did a bit of research, so read about the missing top display, the smaller battery, bit slower burst mode etc. which makes it a bit of a down-grade,...
I erased an SD card using disk utility, formatted it in the camera, copied the bin file to the card, put it into the camera (in slot 1) and started while holding the menu button, but have not been able to get the "update firmware" screen, just the regular starting menu. UPDATE: I changed the bin file name, deleting the "-3" suffix, and it worked.
Hi all, I am looking for a new Pentax DSLR, my K-30 was stolen a few months ago (along with my 18-135) and I have gone without a camera long enough! Prior to the K-30 I had an *ist DS, and an K-200. While I loved the K-30's auto focus and high ISO performance, my favorite by far was the K-200. I am trying to decide between a K-70, a K-3, or a K-3ii. I think the K-3 and K3ii will give me the heft and 'feel' that I liked with the k-200 along with the top LCD, while the K-70 will have...

After resting my K-3 for more than 6 months, due to newborn baby, I finally had sometime to use it again. Unfortunately, I am having 2 problems which I need help from experts here. First, when I use the camera on portrait mode, the photo result in slightly shifted picture (shifted lower). For example, when I see in the viewfinder a tight portrait with top limit is the top of the head and the bottom limit is the chin, the result will be a portrait with top limit is the eyes and the bottom...
Hello everyone, Hope you are well. I want to get the Fuji GFX 50s, but there are some things that I need to clarify. I'd appreciate if someone can advise me on those. 1. Memory card support: Since SanDisk 512GB Extreme Pro SDXC cards came out, I've bought one and started using it. And then slowly I bought more and now I have 6 x 512GB Extreme Pro SDXC cards. I've used them on many cameras for example: Nikon D800E, D810, Sony RX100 M2, M4, Pentax K-3, K-1, Sigma DP2 Quattro, SD Quattro. But...
Are there any wide-angle weather-resistant lenses for Pentax mounts, preferably DA since those are usually much less expensive than FA? I see that there's a Pentax 12-24 and a Sigma 10-20, both of which would probably work for me except that I want a lens that's weather-sealed so that I can take it out into rain and snow. I have used my K-3 with the Pentax 16-85 lens in heavy rain. The photo quality was mediocre in the poor light, but the camera and 16-85 lens had no problems with the rain....
