Without question this is now the finest lens I own for IQ. I never thought this lens would be so good. Some background info. I have been buying 50mm primes since my first dSLR some 10 years ago. My current 50mm is a Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 This lens allows the body to control the aperture, but not focus, hence the A and not FA! Just fantastic. You've heard the term "plastic fantastic" before? Never has it applied to a lens so much as with this beauty. I've upscaled duplicates of blueprints to 24x36" at 300 dpi (75 Megapixels) with this lens and every single little detail is there. This must be the one of the sharpest lenses in Pentax's lineup, if not the sharpest. And it's like $100. Enough said. -Raj

a very sharp lens, which has no CA's at all from f 6,7 to f 11, even in extreme situations. very sharp,when stopping down to f2.8. extremely sharp from f4 to f8. love it very much because of its high contrast, nice colors and wonderfull bokeh. macro shootings with macro ring or converter use no problem very highly recommanded:-) a really professional lens (similar lens of Zeiss is much more expensive)
