Hello Being reading DPReview for a long time, I just wanted to ask a quick question. I am about to purchase a GH5, goal is to make still pictures & shoot videos (my children playin' at weekly basis). I already own a pancake 20mm 1.7 that I use 90% of the time with my GH3 and a 14-140 mark2 + a 7-14 that I use when traveling. As I want to get rid of my camcorder and do with GH5 both still & videos, I look for a new lens, very silent while zooming/autofocus, quick, to do both still and...
I have had my EM 1.2 for a couple of months now and I have a number of issues. Most, I think are due to my coming from many years using a Panasonic GH1 and then GH3. Beside never being able to find things in the manual or in the menus my biggest issue is with the Mode Dial. At least I think it is. EM 1.2 Mode Dial When the mode dial is set to P, C1, C2 or C3 the camera powers up to a fixed group of settings. When it is set to A, S or M it powers up to what the camera was set to when I last...

My old Lumix f4 14-140 is no longer focusing reliably, and I need to change it. The f3.5 version looked like a straightforward upgrade, until I saw a lot of reports about jittery video on some bodies - including the GH range. I know the IQ gets good reviews for stills, but I need to use it for video too. If you are using the f3.5 14-140mm with a GH3 - for video - do tell us what you think of it - good or bad.
EDIT* These Problems are solved. Please delete, many thanks! Hi, I bought a used Panasonic GH3 Camera lately and unfortunately I have several Problems with. The most important one: When Display is switched on and I turn the camera, the screen goes of and turns on again when I move the camera body back. Does anyone know what why it does that? When I plug in my external microphone, all I hear is just atmospheric noise. When I pull off the ext. microphone, it records sound. These are the most...
Has anyone bought a cheap spare battery in NZ that they can recommend? I had luck several years ago with batteries for my Fz50 and L1 but the cheapie I bought for my GH3 died after a couple of uses. (Can't remember where I got it from.) I ended up buying another genuine one for it. Now I have the G7 as well and its battery life isn't the greatest.... Just want something that works properly even if it doesn't have a great capacity. Just so I don't get caught short as typically none of my...
Not long ago I bought a new Panasonic Lumix H-RS100400, so my everyday walking-around lens - my Panasonic LumixH-HS12035 - will be spending some time off the body of my GH3. Now I"m gonna need a nice padded lens case/pouch for that 12-35 while the bigger lens is on the camera (I've been just popping it in the case I use for the H-RS100400, but there's too much room in there and I don't want the smaller lends flopping around in the bigger case. Anyone have a recommendation for a good, padded,...
I recently picked up the Panasonic Lumix H-RS100400 zoom for my GH3 (and hopefully for my GH5 next year). I've just started playing around with the new lens (need better weather where I live) but I've run into a dilemma or two... 1) I need a storage pouch/bag or something to protect it when I'm out and about (or even at home). For other lenses I like the cylindrical neoprene pouches from Op Tech, but this lens is too long to fit any of theirs. Can anyone recommend a good...

I am trying to shoot an event and found that continuous AF is unusable (too much hunting/refocusing, especially during light change) and manual focus is hard to use with the relatively low resolution of the display and no focus peaking option. Ideally, I would like to be able to press a button to autofocus on the center area and stay there until I press the button again. I would also like to keep the focus ring active for manual overrides. Below are my current settings. They work great BEFORE...
Had the camera a while, but spending more time with it recently makes me realize that there's a lot more to it that I should know. The OEM manual on my iPad only goes so far. Can anyone recommend a decent 3rd party guide for the GH3? (I've found guides for the GH2 and the GH4 - nothing on the GH3). Thanks!
