Last week on a hunting trip I took some snaps on the fly with my new G9. Used the lens often on my aging GH3. Overall I'm very pleased with all images I took with this combo but I wonder what exactly could cause the willow leaves on the left shore to appear somewhat mushy while they are more defined on the opposite shore.  I was traveling about 20 mph using the e-shutter and all the stabilizing options one handed...(I was operating the boat).  Now I'm not complaining nor am I disappointed in...

I am working up a new rig to record a small music festival. Single camera with a H6 connected to a stereo mic. In the past I used a GH3 for the video recording with the audio fed to the camera from the H6. This year I refreshed the setup with a GH5 and a Ninja V for recording higher quality video. My question is, should I pass the output of the H6 through the GH5 or directly to the Ninja V? A longer path introduces more potential for signal loss and noise. I am going to play with the setup...

Hi. With my camera set for MP4, 1080p, 30 fps and 20Mps the camera shows that I have approx. 27 minutes recording time on a 32GB card. I thought that this was a little low for 32GB. So, out of curiosity, I inserted a 64GB card. The camera still shows a recording time of just over 27 minutes !. ** Can anyone explain to me why this is happening and how I might get it to record for longer in MP4. Note: I definitely do not want to use AVCHD and would rather not use MOV because it has a much...

Hi - I’ve just registered having used this site for excellent browsing and buying advice for a while. I’ve just bought a used GH4 and was about to update the firmware from its current v2.5, but noticed that the recording limit with a 128GB card shows at 2h44 for 4K. On my GH3, the limit shows at 29m59 for the same card. Have I inadvertently bought a GH4R, or is it in some way hacked to eliminate the recording limit? The V Log L profile doesn’t seem to be listed, and the box and paperwork...

Hi DPReview MFT community! I've been lurking this forum for the past month going from looking to buy a GH2 to a GH3 to a GH5, no scratch that it's too expensive, to a GH4 to a GX85, to a... needless to say the options were endless and eventually I just had to settle on a camera and try it out myself. My primary concerns were video quality and ease of use as this build would be used for filming fast paced action sports, where speedy setup is essential to getting the right clips. The first lens...

Hello everyone, well, the title says it all: do you think a Panasonic GH3 taking pictures in .RW2 is a good camera for trying to sell photos on some websites? I have taken hundreds of photos, some of which, I like to think, are not too shaby. I have many questions, but I think it's better to keep it simple for start. Thank you for reading and have a nice day

Hi all, About a year and a half ago I sold off my Sony A77 II and went micro 4/3, getting the GX85. This was due to size, image stabilization and the fact that I was more often choosing my LX100 over my a77 II even when my Sony would do the job better strictly for size. For the most part I am very happy, but recently I’ve run into a couple issues. 1. Occasionally I need a microphone input. While I can use an external recorder, it doesn’t always work well in my workflow.  2. I find myself...

Looking to upgrade as I recently broke my Panasonic GH1. I currently have a 20mm 1.7, 20-32, and the kit lens I’ve found the GH2 and G7 (body only) on eBay for around the same price. I’ve seen such amazing content from the hacked GH2 that I’m considering choosing it over the G7, despite other features such as peaking and 4K. Is the higher bitrate on the GH2 worth it over the G7’s 4K and peaking? I plan on shooting lots of b roll and short films.
