I hadn't used it for months but today I needed the battery for a quick shot from my GH1. To my horror, when I picked up the G1 it dam' near glued itself to my hand! The stickyness feels like what you get with some older Sigma lenses' rubber. Last time I used the G1 was maybe a year ago. 91% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol doesn't budge the stuff, almost seems to make it even stickier. :-( "Storage" was in a non-air conditioned room but inside an air-conditioned building. My G1 is Japan-made, the...
What is the upper limit of sdflash size for a stock gh1, ie no code flashes. I did try a 64G and the camera message was something like unsupported format. I think 16G works so that would leave 32G as a possibility but if someone knows the limit please respond. tks don
Looking to upgrade as I recently broke my Panasonic GH1. I currently have a 20mm 1.7, 20-32, and the kit lens I’ve found the GH2 and G7 (body only) on eBay for around the same price. I’ve seen such amazing content from the hacked GH2 that I’m considering choosing it over the G7, despite other features such as peaking and 4K. Is the higher bitrate on the GH2 worth it over the G7’s 4K and peaking? I plan on shooting lots of b roll and short films.
Hey all- I'm looking for a tripod head to replace my current well-used 30 dollar ball head. I have a Canon 50d with a battery grip and a 300mm F4L with a 1.4x teleconverter. Using a ball head has certainly worked, but the feel of the ball head with my setup just doesn't feel right to me. I've looked into gimbal heads, specifically the Opteka GH1. Does anyone have any experience with this head or any two-cents to offer? Thanks- --Davis Kellyhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/154808725@N05/
Took a B&B break this week and, on a whim, took the Panasonic G1 and GH1 instead of my usual Sigma gear. I had purchased the 14-45mm on the grounds that it was said to be "better" than the later more cheaply-built 14-42mm. However, my shots had a lot of flare in them, enough for me to trash a good few shots. The day was not that bright and the sun was not near the shots and definitely not in the angle of view. Here's one: Another (opposite direction): A hazy overcast, IIRC. My question is...
Hi: Just got a Lumix GX8 today. I have been using a Lumix GH1 for years. Anyhow, when I rotate the monitor out from the body, turn it 180 degrees, then flip it back to the camera body with the monitor facing out, it won't turn on. The monitor will only display when it's tilted at least part way from the body. As soon as it gets close to the body, it automatically switches to the viewfinder. Is this a bug? A flaw in my model that needs to be fixed, or have I just misunderstood how to use the...
I have had my EM 1.2 for a couple of months now and I have a number of issues. Most, I think are due to my coming from many years using a Panasonic GH1 and then GH3. Beside never being able to find things in the manual or in the menus my biggest issue is with the Mode Dial. At least I think it is. EM 1.2 Mode Dial When the mode dial is set to P, C1, C2 or C3 the camera powers up to a fixed group of settings. When it is set to A, S or M it powers up to what the camera was set to when I last...
