Found this raptor hidden in the trees at the Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico last week. (I know this isn't the greatest composition given it's behind by several branches). The almost completely brownish color has me somewhat stumped. Perhaps a juvenile. Any ideas? First post. I have a M43 Panasonic Lumix G2 and recently purchased a lens on eBay that I want to adapt to the G2. The lens is a (Pentax) Asahi SMC Takumar 55mm 1.8 with a screw type mount. The lens also has a switch that can be set at MAN or AUTO. Before I purchase an adapter I need clarification as to weather or not a Pentax PK adapter is the same as an M42? Also should the switch on the lens be set at MAN or AUTO? Thanks for advice or comment.
The Owner's Manual for the G2 states that VC "may not perform sufficiently ... when shooting while using a tripod." Does that mean VC should be turned OFF when shooting while mounted to a tripod? Does that mean VC will not damp vibrations as effectively while mounted to a tripod? Don't you just love it when an Owner's Manual provides clear and unambiguous statements? --Landscaper
I've just purchased the G2 from buydig.com for $1099. That price for a new lens with a 1 year warranty was lower than the best price I could find for the same lens used. So, here's my question: Just how good is the IQ when the G2 is paired with its complementary 1.4 tele-converter? I realize its very good, but is it necessarily better than simply enlarging the (approximately) center two thirds of the image of the G2 without the TC? For me me that question isn't just rhetorical. I plan to use...

Which do I pick? The more I read the more I change my mind. I am in search of greater reach and weather protection. Presently using Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 with 1.7 tele. Have D750 and D500. I shoot wildlife (small mammals, birds, butterflies), high school sports (field, arena) so I spend a lot of time outdoors in variable conditions year round. The weight and cost differential of the lenses do not play into my decision. The Sigma contemporary version is not in the running as I would select the...
Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I use a Canon 70D and a 400mm 5.6 setup and looking to get a Tamron 150-600 G2. I've never had /used a tripod before but would like to get one and would like some advice please. I'd like to stay around $300 if possible. I do 99% bird and wildlife shooting. I understand the Tamron G2 comes with an Arca Swiss mount. Thank you Bob
