Recently sold all my gear and bought a gripped D500 with Nikkor 200-500mm to pursue wildlife photography. Absolutely love the setup and its more camera than I'll ever need. I have even used it for some kid portraits that turned out beautifully. It feels really good in hand and I am able to hand-hold it for half a day without concern. However, I miss doing other types of photography which are much more practical (walking around the neighborhood, kids around the house, outings to the park). In...

Hey all, I am looking forward to a holiday in Tanzania, consisting of a scuba diving part and a safari part. For underwater I am getting advice from the nice folks at http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/ but I need some advice for the safari part. I set my eyes on a D500 and I am looking for a set of lenses that would make sense for me. Here's what I have in mind: 1. I am an amateur, taking shots for my own amusement, but I want to make large prints of my best work; that's just a dream atm as I...

I just recently purchased an a6500, along with a Canon EF mount Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens with a fotodiox adapter. After playing around with it, I notice that it is very glitchy. I am able to take a few shots with auto focus, then the autofocus stops working and you have to shut the camera off, and turn it back on. Also, it seems like the aperture gets stuck, and i cannot change it.  I still have time to return my lens at B&H photo. My question is, am I going to get better...

While reading the bullet points of the lens features on this B&H Photo page I came across this copy. What do they mean by that Mode 3 wording I have in bold below? Thanks. VC image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to 4.5 stops for more effective handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions. Three separate VC modes are also available to suit various styles of shooting: Mode 1 is a balanced setting for general use, and promotes both a stabilized...

I admit that I am new to the Arca Swiss mounting system, but since they DON'T MAKE ONLY ONE SIZE, could the lens manufacturers maybe hint at the correct size or is that tribal knowledge. Bought a Desmond ARCA Swiss plate for my new Tamron 70-700  2.8 G2 and guess what? You guessed it! It is too large for my lens mount. Just wondered if they can give the exact specs like overall length, which unless I am having a customized 5,000 dollar camera case made to fit those exact specs , it wouldn't...

so my daughter was asleep in my arms and I had my A99ii with my sal70200g2 lens on it in a bag but it slid of my shoulder :(. Landed on the ground in bag no noticeable damage but now lens won't autofocus.  In fact I can't focus it anymore. The zoom is also stiffer. And when I turn focus it also feels like it is stuck.  I've owned the lens 4 months.  Any advice warranty won't cover that will it?  And can it be repaired?

Hello Forums, need advice on which set to acquire. I am debating right now between the new Tamron 150-600 G2 with a Metabones Mark IV on my A7RII or a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary with the Sigma MC-11 adapter on my A7RII. My main focus is fast AF, with image quality being second. The purpose of this set is to find a decent mega-zoom with a not-so-hefty price tag for me to shoot sports and wildlife.
