I've had the body over a year now, and it's a versatile do everything camera, and for some reason it's "Special Order" only at B&H Camera. In my heart, I lust for the Leica SL2 but my Visa Card says Panasonic S1R. Do I give up much by having the S1R and -not- the Leica SL2? I really don't think so... I understand the high-end German product, but I'm really not a Pro Photographer... just a Prosumer kinda guy. I've used both manual focus and auto focus lenses from Sigma, Panasonic, and Zeiss. A week ago I've returned from a trip to Istanbul where I was using my Panasonic S1R. I must say that I am completely happy with this experience. I had 2 lenses with me - Panasonic S 20-60/3.5-5.6 and Panasonic S 24-105/4. First of all - the obvious. Size and weight and size. The Lumix S1r is not for beginner or intermediate photographers, unless you can dive into hours of study to understand the complexity this camera offers and afford the proper glass for this baby.
