About to buy a G9 to upgrade my G85. I'm confused on how to get TTL with my Metz 15 ms-1 ring flash. I know the G9 does not have a pop-up to use a s controller, yet in this Lumix video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYa8W-ft8xc he shows a camera flash wireless screen that seems to have an IR controller, indicates wireless group and channel control, etc. . ???  Is this only if you get a commander flash to put in the hotshoe??  Is there a simple way to gewt the TTL functions of the Metz on the...

Hi. I shot my first videos on my new G9 yesterday. When I tried to play them on my desktop they played at about 1/3 speed, jerky and broken. I tried several newly uploaded or updated players, same thing with all of them. I converted to mp4 30p which made them smoother and whole but not faster.   I have this recurring thought that my desktop might be due for an upgrade. It's a HP Workstation Z400 with Intel XeonW3503 2,40GHz CPU, Nvidia Quadro 2000 GPU and 9GB RAM running two HP LP2475w...

The short version: I would like to have the equivalent of the G9's AFS (auto focus single, the one with the crosshair) on the M10ii. How do I achieve that? The longer version: Been out shooting my new toy today with the Panasonic 30 mm macro. I was struggling trying to stop the focus from hunting all over the place, though. Tried AF+MF at first (thought that might do the trick) but as soon as I hit the shutter button everything went south. Consequently turned off AF always on, and set the...

Just bought the fantastic G9 - enjoying it very much but finding the setup of the Fn Lever Setting a problem. Have PDFs, watched videos but cannot get it to do what I want! I shot in Silent Mode and would like to be able to simply switch to a mechanical shutter when needed - help, help... --TrevTheBritI remember using slide film...http://www.flickr.com/photos/trevthebrit

Inspired by this thread: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4588522 concerning whether a tripod-mount-engaging PD cuff on an E-M5 would be ok, I got curious as to what G9 users with bigger and heavier telezooms use while out and about, say, while hiking.

Good day, With my other 2 lenses I installed firmware on my G9 so my camera and lenses could communicate. I just purchased the H-FSA14140 and when I got to the Panasonic website, I see there is no downloadable firmware for this lens. On two different Panasonic webpages, it does claim this lens is compatible with the G9, and yet how do I use the lens if I can not download the firmware? I am starting to regret this lens purchase. Can anyone help? Thank you kindly.

While shopping for a G9 I noticed several sellers did not have stock. New model coming or just a shortage like other products?

I bought a second hand G9 while ago, it is still in very good condition but the front dial is not very smooth, I dont know how to describe but it feels like sticky, particularly for the initial movement. It is perfectly useable but a bit annoying. Has anyone experienced a similar thing and is there any remedy I can try? Thanks in advance. --https://www.flickr.com/photos/45380274@N04/Dont forget I am a newbie :)

i have a GX85 and i love it, truly, i swapped to this thing as my edc camera from a a5100 but lately i have been considering upgrading. i looked both at the g9 and g95, did some comparisons on here in the images and all 3 are relatively similar but i preferred the g9 even if the g95 looked to have some situational better colour reproduction. anyway im wondering if anyone thinks its worth the upgrade? id love a crisper image and featured like more focus points are something i miss going from...

Out of the blue, the thought of how I would love to have a monochrome only GX9 just popped into my head. Leica offered three different Leica M-Monochrome cameras, plus a Leica Q II Monochrome only camera. Each of the three Leica M-Monochromes, starting with an M9 version, were limited editions that quickly sold out, and today, used copies still command much higher prices than their standard siblings do. Basically, all Leica did was remove the CFA from the sensor stack and remove any menu...
