|I own it||I want it||I had it|
The Panasonic S 70-300 F4.5-5.6 Macro OIS is a telephoto lens for L-mount bodies. Of its 17 elements, it sports one ultra extra-low dispersion, one ultra-high refractive index and two extra-low dispersion lenses. Its focus group is driven by a linear motor.
The built-in image stabilizer can reduce shake by up to 5.5 stops, and is compatible with Panasonic cameras with Dual IS support. The lens has a minimum focal length of 0.54m at its wide end and a max magnification of 0.5x at 300mm. The 70-300 is weather-sealed, functions down to -10°C/+14°F, and has a fluorine coating to resist oil and water.
|Lens type||Zoom lens|

|Weight||790 g (1.74 lb)|
|Length||148 mm (5.83″)|
The Panasonic S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 is a well-built telephoto zoom that autofocuses very quickly and very closely, and has solid image quality across the zoom range. It's unremarkable maximum aperture range limits its use for low-light shooting, but for casual wildlife, landscape and sports photography in brighter conditions, it's definitely worth a look for L-mount shooters.
Good for: Landscape, wildlife and casual sports and portrait photography.
Not so good for: Fast action in lower lighting conditions, and those that are looking for shallower depth of field that faster-aperture lenses would allow for.
