I've had a Panasonic Lumix ZS30 for a few years and have loved it. I shoot a lot of pictures on the iA automatic mode. Recently, all the pictures I take on sunny days come out overexposed. Indoor shots and pics in the shade are still good. I brought the camera to a store and they did a reset of the settings: no change. I brought it to a different local store to be repaired and the guy said there was nothing wrong with it (it was a cloudy day). Any idea of what is happening? Should I...
I had a panasonic lumix TZ40 for a few years. It did what I wanted, which was take 720p video. Specifically, it never had any issues with losing and re-gaining focus while recording. I used it on "M", manual mode. Then it died. I (fooloishly) bought a cheaper camera to replace it, the sony DSC W830. No matter what I try, if I'm recording and the subject (assume it's something like a rubik's cube) moves a little, the camera loses the clear focus, and spends a few seconds trying to sharpen the...
I was looking at a inexpensive portable backup camera. I can get a refurb ZS-40 and ZS-30 for roughly the same price. I know the 40 is newer and has some extra features but I like the form factor(portability, grip) of the 30 better. I have 1 year old twins so I don't have time to learn RAW files much less adjust them. Is there any significant IQ differences between them? Would I be happy with the ZS-30?

So I dropped my TZ40 whilst the lens was extended and one of the segments got out of whack and it wouldn't contract. With a bit of manual persuasion I got it all to line up again and it worked perfectly for a week. I then switched it on the other day and got the dreaded "System Error (Zoom)" message and the lens remain 'closed'. But it's not fully closed, all the segments appear to be contracted, but the lens cover flaps (?) are not fully closed - they're still open about 5mm. No amount of...

I want to map my photo locations using the GPS data I thought was being saved. I have checked the EXIF data and none of it has been saved. GPS is set to ON and the Airplane mode is OFF. I have searched in the manual and cannot find any helpful information in this situation. What am I doing wrong, please? Thanking you in advance for your help and advice, PlainJain

Hello everyone, I apologize if this is not the place to post this (and would appreciate if a mod moved this if need be) but I am new and I have no idea what I'm doing! So, I have never owned a camcorder and never consistently been involved with recording videos but I currently find myself with a relatively confusing situation; I need to have a device to place in the room where my wedding will be celebrated in order to record from one angle (plus additional footage during the rest of the day)...
Hello DP Forum This may have already been covered, but, I am still looking and looking and looking at reviews of CSCs. I have a Panasonic Lunix TZ40 (dont laugh), wow I hear you say? i am going to New Zealand in December and would like to take camera that covers the following. It doesn't matter if expensive either or I need to buy extra lenses, or compact/csc. I just need and would love to know what to do and what not to buy. I would like to upgrade to a better more rounded camera. I will...
