Dear all After having read the buying guides for travel, landscape and easy-to-use cameras I am still a little perplexed which model to choose as my first interchangeable camera. I am think off something APS-C / Four Third. The camera and lens gear should not be too heavy as I like to travel with light luggage. However, I would like to have lenses for travel and landscape. Using a Lumix TZ101 right now I wonder if I should go for a Lumix G81 or G91 because I know the menu etc. How up-to-date...

Last time we did the trail in 2013 trip with our kids. This is the top of Muir Pass. LX7. exif data may be lost. Hey Folks - I searched comparisons in this and other forums, but wanted to get some input if you are willing. I need a camera for a 28 day backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada range in CA. I want something pocketable or nearly pocketable. Battery life is important as I have to carry extra batteries to last 8 days at a time. Weight and volume of the whole kit is important as I have...

I am considering purchasing the ZS100 (known as TZ110 in my country) used, on line.  No viewfinder would be a deal-breaker for me so curious as to how usable the VF is on this model? I have M4/3 models and also an old FZ50.  I've pulled the FZ out a few times recently and notice how far VFs have come!  But it is still acceptable to me for the type of P&S type photography I intend to use the ZS for.  It is mainly for travelling light on planes and overnight hikes where space, weight and ease...

Thinking to get a Sony Full Frame camera (or a Canon).   I have APS-C by Canon and Sony now.   I also have a 1" sensor by Panasonic (DMC-ZS100).  In video, I sometimes notice focus pulsating in the ZS100 which is due to it's Contrast Detection focus technology.  Canon M50 uses Phase Detection instead, so I never get that wobble/hunt focusing.   I started using my A6400 Sony more often now (over the Canon) and started noticing the same pulsating as the ZS100, just not as often.  Later, I...

Haven't used this camera in a long time When I first took it out (after a year not using it) it would only zoom from 25 to 75, but then I discovered focus mode was set to macro zoom, so I changed it to AF. Then when I tried it the range became 25-500. This camera is only supposed to have optical zoom from 25-250. I have no need to go to 500 with this little camera.  This also makes it zoom out way too fast.  Both i.Zoom and Digital Zoom are set to OFF, so why is it zooming to 500?

Is it possible to attach a small external microphone to either of the ZS100 or ZS200?  I use them for concert videos.  I also have a Sony RX100 ii where I can attach a small microphone to the hotshoe and it makes a huge difference in the sound quality. The Panasonics have a longer zoom and I can black out the screen to make shooting a bit more discrete, so if possible, I'd like to have the best of both worlds.  Longer zoom, blacked out screen and an external mic.  --Shawn

By chance has anyone found an eye cup that fits over the EVF on the ZS 100?  I prefer to use the EVF and it’s not just tiny, it’s not comfortable on this camera. Thanks in advance.

Your thoughts please on the fz300 and if it really is sealed from dirt and dust. I have the zs100 and I love using my Nikon p950 long zoom but both have had to go to the shop to be cleaned. We ride sideXsides up in the mountains in Colorado several times a year and my cameras have gotten dirt in the lens, the ZS100 even when I kept it in the case till we were completely stopped at some pretty spots. I typically shoot landscapes, animals, and birds. I don’t shoot video and I wouldn’t be...

I have Sony A6000, Nex7, N5 now. Also I have D3X and D3S. Now I am thinking of having a great smaller camera for my daily use. All the cameras I have now seems not a ideal pocket camera. I have a Motorola edge phone and it can take great pictures. But not as good as a small camera which I feel. Can someone please give me some advice for which I should take: Sony RX 100 or Lumix ZS60 or ZS100. Thank you very much.
