I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2. It started (a while ago, it has been sitting unused since) making a grinding noise, as you can hear in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij9FwyNLEmc It's pretty loud, and much louder in videos recorded on the camera itself. Turning Optical Image Stabilisation off has no effect, so it would seem the noise is on focussing, rather than IS. It's had very little use, and I don't think it ever went under water. It may have even been under warranty when...
Here it is: I don't have the person who sent me this image handy to provide more information for now. All I know is that it's a Vivitar lens that came with a collection of old film cameras which included a Nikon Nikormat FT2 and an Olympus OM10. I've found some Vivitar lenses that look similar but I haven't nailed it. I am hoping that some of you real photography veterans might know what it is by sight. To help get a sense of its size, here is it pictured with what I'm pretty sure is a...

I can't find vintage catalogs so perhaps people can assist. It seems that in the 1970's firms sold a narrow range of 35mm SLR cameras. Nikon web site shows cameras like: - F2 Photomic - Nikkormat FT2, FT3 - Nikon FM It seems that Nikkormat was a consumer range and Nikon was for more expensive and mostly for pros. They merged the names later. There were fewer choices. They were all 35mm, and didn't deal with difference sensor sizes, mount variations we do today. Nikon today 4 DX choices,...
I have one of the above. I am trying to find what cable I need to download photos from the camera's memory card to a Microsoft Surface book. Not sure how or why, but th eUSB cable from camera to machine on my other computers disappeared and replacements haven't worked. I have also failed in my efforts to simply insert said memory card in to said Surface book. Kind regards Nigel
Was a long time Nikon user, Nikkormat FT2, FM, D50, D80, D5000 (I think I'm missing a few). Really didn't like the D5000 so went old school with Pentax for awhile (MF lens on a 6MP body). It was fun but really wanted to experience Full Frame. About 6 months ago a used Canon 5D showed up at my local shop for $475. I bought it and a 40mm Pancake. Really, Really fun. I can't believe how much easier it is to shoot with a "regular" size viewfinder. Anyway, I have just the one lens. So not a big...
